Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus P552w / P552v — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SBP-18)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell sourced to the SBP-18 specification for the Asus P552w and P552v smartphones. It replaces an original cell that has degraded, swollen, or stopped holding a charge. Dimensions are 52.35 × 42.58 × 5.36mm — verify against your existing cell before installation.
- P552w and P552v compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and SBP-18 part number. The voltage rail and BMS handshake are identical across the two, so one cell covers both variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles through a P552w unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge current stepped down correctly at top-of-charge, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- First-cycle calibration on the P552w: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — it reduces erratic percentage readings in the first few days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the P552w after a cell swap
The P552w fuel gauge IC builds its discharge model from the previous cell's coulomb-count history. After a swap, that model no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage curve. When the phone hits a load spike — modem transmission, screen wake — the cell voltage drops below the protection threshold faster than the IC expects, and the device cuts out even though the reported percentage looks safe. One full discharge-to-5% and uninterrupted charge cycle forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at falsely high percentages typically stop.
P552w not powering on after the battery has sat in storage
Li-ion cells shipped or stored for extended periods can self-discharge below 2.5V per cell. At that level the BMS locks out to prevent damage, and the phone shows nothing — no boot screen, no charging indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the protection circuit releases and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My P552w shows 25% battery and then just dies with no warning — is this the new cell or something else?
This is a fuel gauge IC mismatch, not a faulty cell. The IC's discharge model was calibrated to your old cell's voltage curve, so it misjudges how quickly the new cell's voltage collapses under load. Run one full discharge down to 5% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% with fast charging disabled. That single cycle rewrites the coulomb counter reference and the premature shutdowns stop.
The P552w isn't showing a charging indicator at all after I installed the SBP-18 — it's just a black screen.
A cell that dropped below 2.5V during storage triggers the BMS lockout, which prevents any boot or charge screen from appearing. Plug into a wall adapter — not a PC port — and leave it connected for at least 25 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC delivers a trickle current that lifts the cell above 2.9V, the BMS re-enables, and the charging animation appears. Only then attempt to power on.
Fast charging stopped working on my P552w right after I fitted the replacement battery — it just slow-charges now.
The charge IC on the P552w runs a handshake with the BMS on the first cycle to confirm the cell can accept high-current charge. On a new, uncalibrated cell it sometimes defaults to a conservative constant-current rate until one full cycle completes. Let the phone charge from near-empty to 100% on a standard charger once. After that cycle, reconnect your fast charger — the IC re-runs the handshake against the now-characterised cell and fast charging resumes at the correct rate.
