Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BlackView BV2000 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BV2000)
This is a 3.7V, 2050mAh Li-ion cell that fits the BlackView BV2000 rugged Android smartphone. It replaces the original cell when the existing battery no longer holds enough charge to carry the phone through normal daily use. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.
- BV2000 cell fit: The BV2000 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack with a fixed connector and BMS handshake tied to the phone's charge IC. This replacement matches that connector pinout and cell voltage so the phone's power management stack accepts the cell without flagging a fault.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BV2000 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on the first charge cycle, and the charge IC reached termination voltage without tripping a fault or cutting the session short.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Why the BV2000 shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap
A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the worn cell it replaces. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old curve, so it miscalculates the remaining charge. When the modem or screen draws a burst of current near the actual low-voltage threshold, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff and the phone shuts off even though the percentage display showed capacity remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate resets the coulomb counter reference point and brings the percentage reading back in line.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage has dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charging to protect against plating lithium onto the anode. The phone will show no charging indicator and will not power on. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits include a trickle pre-charge path that slowly raises the cell voltage back above the 2.5V re-enable threshold before switching to normal charge current.

Frequently Asked Questions
The BV2000 shows 25% battery and then just cuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is most likely fine. The fuel gauge IC on the BV2000 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old worn cell, so the percentage reading is inaccurate on a new cell. When screen or modem load pulls a short current spike, the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff even though the display still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown followed by a full charge at standard rate — this resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current while it evaluates the new cell's impedance. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle at the standard rate without triggering fast charge. On the second cycle, reconnect the original fast charger — the IC will have logged the cell's response and will accept the higher current.
The battery percentage on my BV2000 keeps jumping around — it reads 60%, then 45%, then back to 55% within minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC recalibration problem, not a cell defect. The IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed, and it is now estimating state-of-charge against incomplete data. Drain the phone fully until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. After that single complete cycle the coulomb counter has a full dataset and the percentage display stabilises.
