  • Studio G Plus / S510 series fit: These models share a common battery footprint — 82.00 x 64.90 x 4.07mm — along with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping across this group does not trigger a charge IC fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Studio G Plus board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC held steady throughout the cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one complete data set against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Studio G Plus

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under load — typically during screen-on or modem activity — before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone's charge IC reads the voltage drop as a shutdown threshold, so the device powers off even though the gauge shows charge remaining. One full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted recharge cycle resets the coulomb counter and resolves this.

Phone won't power on after the battery sat discharged in storage

Li-ion cells that drop below roughly 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent unsafe charging of a deeply discharged cell. The Studio G Plus will show no charge indicator and will not boot. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a PC USB port — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone should show the charging screen and boot normally.

My BLU Studio G Plus shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it's caused by the fuel gauge IC still referencing the old cell's discharge curve. The IC uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to the worn-out original cell, so readings on a fresh cell are inaccurate. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

The phone feels warm near the battery area while charging — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is expected. A fresh Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a used one, which causes the charge IC to dissipate slightly more heat as it works to push current in. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging cuts off early, stop and check that the charger output does not exceed the phone's rated input. Warmth that fades after the first two or three full cycles is not a fault.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery in my Studio G Plus — what happened?

The charge IC negotiates fast charge protocol on each new cell connection, and on the first cycle it sometimes defaults to standard charging while it reads the new BMS parameters. This is not a fault. Run one complete standard charge cycle to 100%, then unplug and reconnect — the IC re-negotiates and fast charging typically resumes. If it does not, confirm the adapter output is at least 5V/2A, as the Studio G Plus fast charge handshake requires adequate input voltage to trigger.
