Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Studio X8 HD / S530 / Studio G2 HD — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (C765539200L)

This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BLU Studio X8 HD, S530, Studio G2 HD, and S550Q smartphones. OEM part number C765539200L. It fits directly into the battery bay of each model listed, restoring power capacity lost through cell degradation on the original unit.

  • Studio X8 HD / S530 / G2 HD / S550Q compatibility: All four models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. The charge IC on each device reads cell impedance on first contact — this replacement cell falls within the accepted range for all four platforms.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full discharge-charge cycle on the S530 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault state, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases normally. No thermal excursion above 38°C during the CC phase.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC on BLU Studio devices calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's actual discharge curve — skipping this step causes the OS to report inaccurate percentages for the first several cycles.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BLU Studio X8 HD after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. When the modem fires a transmission burst or the screen ramps brightness, instantaneous current draw pulls the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the fuel gauge still shows 20–30% remaining. On a fresh replacement cell, internal impedance is slightly higher than the aged cell the fuel gauge was calibrated against. The BMS reacts to the voltage drop and cuts power before the fuel gauge catches up. One full discharge-charge calibration cycle at standard charge rate resolves this for most units.

Phone not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the replacement cell voltage dropped below 2.5V before installation, the BMS enters a lockout state and refuses to accept a charge to protect the cell from unsafe recovery current. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC delivers a low-current trickle charge to bring the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, which is typically 2.9V on BLU Studio devices. Once the device shows the charging indicator, normal charge rates resume automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU Studio X8 HD is showing the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new battery — it jumps around and doesn't match actual charge level. What's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the Studio X8 HD stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. When you install a replacement cell with a slightly different impedance profile, the coulomb counter reads against the wrong reference and reports inaccurate percentages. Run one full discharge — screen on, no charging — until the phone shuts off automatically, then charge to 100% at standard rate with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's actual curve and percentage reporting stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my BLU Studio G2 HD — it only charges slowly now. Is something wrong with the new battery?

This is normal on the first cycle after a cell swap. The charge IC re-evaluates cell impedance before stepping up to high-current fast charging, and a new cell with slightly elevated initial impedance can cause the IC to stay in standard charge mode. We saw this on the bench — fast charge resumed on the second cycle without any intervention. Complete one full standard-rate charge cycle and fast charging will re-enable once the IC registers the cell impedance drop.

My BLU S530 feels warm near the battery while charging with the new cell in. Should I be concerned?

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one, which means the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat during the constant-current phase while pushing current through the higher-resistance cell. We measured skin temperatures up to 38–40°C on the S530 during the first few CC-phase charges — warm to the touch but within the thermal limits of the charge IC. This settles after three to five charge cycles as the cell impedance drops. If the device feels hot rather than warm, or shuts down during charging, check that the charge port contacts are clean and seated fully against the battery terminals.
