Fits Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS wearable tracker; replaces original 3.7V cell pack.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-ion delivers sustained power for GPS and Bluetooth modules on continuous tracking runs.
Connector seats flat against device contact pins; ensure no debris blocks the metal pads before reinsertion.
We bench-tested this cell on GPS lock cycles and confirmed stable voltage hold under moderate RF draw; BMS accepted first-cycle handshake without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge mode for one full discharge-charge cycle — the device fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before high-current pulses.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh (3.7Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Fortuna Clip-On Bluetooth GPS unit. The Clip-On is a wearable Bluetooth GPS tracker that pairs with mobile devices for location and navigation. When the original cell degrades, this replacement restores normal power to the GPS and Bluetooth radios.

  • Clip-On GPS power rail: The Fortuna Clip-On runs its GPS receiver and Bluetooth stack off a single 3.7V cell. Both radios draw current simultaneously during active tracking, so the cell must sustain voltage under combined load without triggering the BMS undervoltage cutoff.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge while monitoring BMS response under dual-radio load. The protection circuit held cutoff thresholds correctly and did not trip on normal GPS acquisition bursts.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable any fast-charge accessories and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting percentage to the paired device — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings early in the battery's life.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Clip-On GPS after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell's voltage drops faster under GPS and Bluetooth combined load than the IC predicts, so reported percentage is ahead of actual cell state. When real cell voltage hits the BMS cutoff threshold, the device shuts off even though the display showed charge remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the IC to the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at false percentages stop.

Fortuna Clip-On not powering on after sitting in storage

Lithium-ion cells that self-discharge below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS deep-discharge lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage. The device will not respond to the power button or show any sign of life. Connect it to a low-current USB charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything. Once the cell recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold (typically 2.9–3.0V), normal charging resumes and the device powers on.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fortuna Clip-On GPS shows 25% battery then just cuts off — why?

The fuel gauge IC in the Clip-On is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell discharges at a slightly different rate, so the percentage reading runs ahead of actual cell voltage. When real voltage drops to the BMS cutoff — around 3.0V under GPS and Bluetooth load — the device shuts off even though the screen still showed charge. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption, and the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve.

The battery percentage on my paired phone jumps around erratically after fitting the new cell — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The Clip-On's fuel gauge IC reports state-of-charge to the paired device via Bluetooth, and it recalibrates over the first one to two full cycles after a cell swap. Until the IC builds an accurate profile of the new cell, percentage readings fluctuate — especially between 40% and 80%. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the readings stabilise. No hardware fix is needed.

My Fortuna Clip-On GPS won't turn on at all after the battery has been sitting unused for months — what do I do?

Extended storage drains the cell below 2.5V, and the BMS locks out the cell at that point to prevent permanent damage. The device will not respond to the power button in this state. Plug it into a standard 5V USB charger — not a fast charger — and leave it connected for at least 20 minutes without pressing anything. Once cell voltage recovers above the BMS re-enable threshold of roughly 3.0V, the charger takes over normally and the device powers on.
