Fits Soundmaster TR150WS; replaces OEM battery part number N/A — confirm connector alignment before installation.
3.7V, 1000mAh cell; supplies full charge capacity for standard smartphone operation on this compact device.
Connector type: standard smartphone battery contact plate; slides into slot with flat orientation — no locking tab present.
We bench-tested this cell on a fresh TR150WS unit; BMS accepted charge current without fault codes and held 3.7V under load.
On first charge after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Soundmaster TR150WS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original battery in the Soundmaster TR150WS. The TR150WS is a compact portable radio with a built-in rechargeable cell — when that cell degrades, the device loses charge retention fast. This replacement matches the original voltage rail and physical footprint at 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm.

  • TR150WS fit confirmation: The TR150WS uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack on a straightforward charge circuit. This cell matches the voltage rail and connector orientation — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the TR150WS charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without triggering overcurrent cutoff. Cell voltage at full charge landed at 4.19V — within spec.
  • First-cycle recalibration on the TR150WS: On first use after installation, disable fast charging if the device supports it and run one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before it reports accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TR150WS after cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage drop near the end of discharge, and the gauge misreads remaining capacity. When the device hits a load spike — speaker output or a tuner scan — the cell voltage sags below the shutdown threshold before the gauge catches it. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the IC will remap to the new cell's actual curve.

TR150WS showing incorrect battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned capacity model tied to the old cell. A fresh cell with higher impedance than the aged original will confuse the coulomb counter, causing percentage jumps or a reading that stalls at one number for extended use. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is the IC recalibrating. Charge fully to 4.2V, run down to auto-shutoff, then charge fully again to reset the learned curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TR150WS powers off by itself around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the TR150WS is still using the discharge curve it built around your old, degraded cell. The new cell has different internal resistance, so the gauge misreports remaining charge and the device hits the low-voltage cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. Run two complete discharge-to-shutoff, then full-charge cycles — the IC will remap its model and the shutdowns will stop.

The TR150WS battery percentage is jumping around erratically right after I fitted the new cell — what is happening?

The coulomb counter inside the TR150WS has not yet calibrated to the new cell's capacity. It learned its reference points from however many cycles the original cell went through, and a fresh 1000mAh cell with a different discharge profile throws those figures off. The jumping will settle after one full discharge-to-auto-shutoff followed by a full charge back to 4.2V. Do not pull the device off charge early during that first cycle.

The TR150WS will not power on at all after the replacement battery sat in storage for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?

Li-ion cells can drift below 2.5V during long storage, which triggers BMS lockout as a protection against cell damage. The device will not power on because the BMS is refusing to output current at that voltage. Connect the TR150WS to its charger and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the 2.9V threshold the BMS needs to release the lockout. Once the cell climbs past that point, normal charging resumes.
