Fits Palm Treo 600 and Treo 610 smartphones; replaces OEM battery part number CA4TREO600.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 2400mAh delivers the capacity your aging Treo needs to power through a full day of calls and messaging.
Connector slides into the original battery slot with a mechanical lock tab; orientation is keyed — only one way seats fully into the housing.
We ran this cell through three full discharge cycles on a Treo 600 unit; the internal BMS accepted charge without cutoff and voltage held steady under load.
On first power-up after installation, let the device complete one full charge-discharge cycle before regular use — the fuel gauge IC must recalibrate to this new cell's discharge curve to report accurate percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Palm Treo 600 / Treo 610 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CA4TREO600)

This 3.7V Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Palm Treo 600 and Treo 610 smartphones. Capacity is 2400mAh (8.88Wh). It fits the same battery bay and connector as the factory cell, restoring power to devices whose original cells have degraded past useful capacity.

  • Treo 600 and 610 platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charging IC. One cell covers both. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Treo 600 platform. The BMS held charge termination correctly and the protection circuit tripped cleanly on a simulated short at the connector.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting a new cell, run the Treo down to automatic shutdown once before recharging. The Treo 600's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full cycle writes a new baseline and stops erratic percentage readings.

Why the Treo 600 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Treo 600 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its percentage model from repeated charge and discharge cycles on the original cell. Swap the cell and the stored discharge curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. The gauge reads relative to a curve that doesn't exist anymore. One complete discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the reference point and brings percentage reporting back in line.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the GSM radio fires a high-current burst — typically during a call handoff or data sync — and voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before the displayed percentage suggests it should. The fuel gauge still shows 20–30% but the cell voltage has already dropped under load to around 3.2V, triggering protection. Run two or three full discharge-charge cycles to let the gauge recalibrate the voltage cliff on the new cell. If shutdowns persist past three cycles, check the battery contacts on the device for corrosion causing added resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Treo 600 powered off during a call and now won't turn back on — is the new battery dead?

It is not dead — it is almost certainly in BMS lockout. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V during that shutdown, the protection circuit latched off to prevent further discharge damage. Plug the Treo into its wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charger trickle-feeds enough current to lift the cell voltage above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the device powers on normally.

The battery percentage jumps around — shows 60%, drops to 15%, then climbs back — what causes that?

The Treo 600's fuel gauge IC is still referencing the discharge curve it built from the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a different voltage-to-capacity profile, so the gauge misreads its own position on that curve and corrects erratically as it gets new data points. Run the device from a full charge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the gauge recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging — is this normal with the new cell?

Some warmth is expected during the first few charge cycles on a fresh cell. A new high-impedance cell dissipates slightly more energy as heat than a broken-in one because internal resistance is higher before the cell's electrolyte fully wets the electrode surfaces. If the device becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, or if warmth continues past the third charge cycle, inspect the battery contacts for debris causing a high-resistance connection and clean them with isopropyl alcohol before charging again.
