Fits Lark Bjorn LARK SP-220, SP-220 DUAL, SP-230 DUAL, and SP-230 DUAL SIM smartphones.
3.7V lithium-ion cell delivers 750mAh capacity for standard daily calling, messaging, and app use.
Connector slides into the battery slot with no locking tab — orient the contact pad toward the phone chassis.
We bench-tested this cell on the SP-220 platform; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first charge after installation, disable USB fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lark Bjorn SP-220 / SP-230 Dual SIM — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 750mAh (2.78Wh), sized at 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm. It fits the LARK SP-220, LARK SP-220 Dual, SP-230 Dual, and SP-230 Dual SIM smartphones. Capacity and voltage figures come from the product data, not estimated from third-party sources.

  • SP-220 and SP-230 Dual SIM compatibility: Both the single-SIM SP-220 and the Dual SIM SP-230 variants share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V supply rail. The cell footprint — 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.70mm — seats correctly in both housings without modification to connectors or tabs.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles through the BMS on this cell format. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and charge acceptance was consistent across cycles with no anomalous heat at the connector tab.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on these Lark handsets calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve on that first full cycle — skipping this step leads to inaccurate percentage readings for weeks.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SP-220 after a cell swap

The SP-220's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve learned from the original cell. A new cell with a different internal impedance hits a voltage cliff the gauge doesn't expect — the phone reads 25% but the actual cell voltage under modem load drops below the shutdown threshold. This isn't a faulty replacement; it's a calibration mismatch. Run one full discharge to near-zero, then a full uninterrupted charge, and the gauge rewrites its reference curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at partial charge stop.

Phone shows wrong battery percentage for days after replacement

The coulomb counter in the SP-220's power management IC tracks charge in and out relative to a stored full-charge capacity figure tied to the old cell. Swapping the cell doesn't reset that figure automatically. The percentage display drifts — sometimes reading 100% after a short charge, or dropping 15 points suddenly under screen load. Force a full recalibration by draining the phone until it auto-shuts off, then charging to 100% without interruption. One complete cycle resets the stored capacity reference to match the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SP-220 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, triggering BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell entirely to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a PC port) and leave it for 45 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges a locked-out cell back above the recovery threshold before normal charging resumes. If the screen still shows nothing after 45 minutes, try a different charging cable before drawing any other conclusions.

Fast charging worked fine with the old battery but won't kick in after I fitted this replacement — why?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the SP-220's charge IC defaults to standard current while it measures the new cell's impedance. Proprietary or USB-PD fast charge negotiation doesn't engage until the controller confirms the cell can accept higher current safely. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge at standard speed — fast charging re-enables automatically from the second cycle onward.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is something wrong?

A new Li-ion cell typically has higher internal impedance than a well-conditioned cell, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during early cycles. On a 750mAh cell this is low absolute wattage, and warmth — not heat — is within normal range. If the back of the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the battery connector is fully seated flat with no tilt at the tab. Correct seating drops contact resistance and brings temperatures back to normal.
