Fits Redmi Note 13 Pro+ with OEM part number BM5U battery replacement.
3.88V at 4850mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on degraded cells.
Connector orientation matches original slot; locking tab aligns with housing clips.
We cycled the cell through five full discharge-charge runs; BMS accepted USB-PD handshake on cycle two.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ — 3.88V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM5U)

The BM5U is a 3.88V, 4850mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ (model 23090RA98C). It fits when the stock cell has degraded past the point where the phone can hold a useful charge through a normal day. Capacity figure is 18.82Wh at nominal voltage.

  • Note 13 Pro+ / 23090RA98C fit: Both identifiers reference the same hardware platform. The connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and physical cell dimensions (85.30 × 63.00 × 6.10mm) are matched to this board revision — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge initiation, BMS communication verification, and USB-PD handshake confirmation. The BMS accepted the cell on first cycle without triggering charge fault flags.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Why the Note 13 Pro+ reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The phone's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the replacement. The IC reports percentage based on old data, so numbers can appear frozen, jump unexpectedly, or read full when the cell is not. One complete slow discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell's real curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's voltage cliff profile. The original cell may have had a gradual voltage drop at low charge; the new cell drops faster under modem or screen load at the same reported percentage. The phone interprets the voltage sag as a critical low and cuts power before the display percentage reaches zero. One full calibration cycle — full discharge to automatic shutdown, then full charge uninterrupted — resets the threshold the IC uses to trigger that cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Note 13 Pro+ won't turn on at all after I put the new battery in — the screen stays black even on charge.

A new cell shipped in storage can drop below the BMS lockout threshold, typically under 2.5V per cell, which causes the protection circuit to block all output. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the lockout threshold, after which the BMS resets and the phone should boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone charges slowly now even with the original charger.

The USB-PD or proprietary fast charge handshake between the charger and the phone's charge IC sometimes fails on the first cycle with a new BMS cell. The charge IC defaults to standard 5V input as a fallback rather than risk overcharging an unverified cell. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect — this resets the handshake sequence. If fast charge still does not activate, complete one full standard-rate cycle first; most charge ICs accept the fast charge protocol normally from the second cycle onward.

The battery percentage jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then suddenly 61%, then drops to 38% without much use.

Erratic percentage jumps after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a fault with the cell itself. The IC's stored charge map no longer matches the new cell's voltage curve, so it corrects its estimate in steps as it gathers new discharge data. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown from a full charge — without plugging in mid-cycle — then charge to 100% in one uninterrupted session. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter has enough data to track the new cell accurately and the jumping stops.
