Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-D808 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BST5268BC)
The BST5268BC is a 3.7V, 800mAh Li-ion cell that fits the Samsung SGH-D808 mobile phone. It slots into the original battery bay and connects to the same three-contact terminal the phone uses for charge monitoring and BMS communication. Use this when the original cell no longer holds charge or the phone shuts down without warning.
- SGH-D808 terminal match: The D808 uses a three-pin connector to pass charge data between the battery BMS and the phone's charge IC. This cell uses the same pin layout, so the phone reads cell state correctly rather than throwing a battery error on boot.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held the charge cutoff at 4.2V and tripped the discharge floor before voltage collapsed under load — no forced shutdowns during the test cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SGH-D808 after a cell swap
The D808's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the old cell in its coulomb counter. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage profile of the replacement. The phone's charge IC interprets a voltage drop under call or screen load as a near-empty cell and forces a shutdown — even when the display shows 25%. One full discharge-charge cycle without interruption resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's curve and stops the premature cutoffs.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC on the D808 pushes current at a fixed rate, and the higher resistance of an uncycled cell converts more of that energy to heat during the first few sessions. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone stays warm beyond the third full charge, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat — a misaligned terminal increases resistance further and keeps heat elevated.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Samsung SGH-D808 shows 25% battery then shuts off completely — is that the new cell failing?
It's not a failing cell — it's the fuel gauge IC running an old discharge curve against a new battery. The coulomb counter calibrated itself to your original cell, so when the new cell's voltage drops under load near 3.6V, the phone reads it as empty and cuts power. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without unplugging early. That single cycle resets the curve and the early shutdowns stop.
The SGH-D808 battery percentage jumps around erratically after I installed the replacement — 40% one minute, 15% the next.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell and hasn't locked onto a stable curve yet. Until it completes a full reference cycle, percentage readings drift because the IC is interpolating from a mismatched baseline. Let the phone discharge fully to shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that anchor cycle, the IC has a real start and end point and the percentage stabilises.
The SGH-D808 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage — this is a protection trip, not a dead battery. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, the BMS has cleared and you can proceed with a normal charge cycle.
