Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Swift 3 SF314-511 Series — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AP20CBL)
This is a Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Acer Swift 3 SF314-511-51YL, SF314-511-71VL, SF314-43-R8GG, SF314-43-R3B9, and over 185 additional Swift 3 variants. It runs at 11.55V with a 4550mAh (52.55Wh) capacity, matching the OEM AP20CBL specification. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or the laptop drops off battery faster than expected under normal workloads.
- Swift 3 SF314 platform fitment: These SF314 variants share the AP20CBL connector pinout, cell voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The three-cell Li-Polymer stack runs a common 11.55V nominal across the series, so one cell revision covers all listed models without adapter or firmware change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SF314-511 chassis and confirmed the BMS negotiated correctly with the EC, reported accurate Wh figures in the OS, and held charge through a full cycle without thermal event or cutoff interruption.
- First-cycle calibration on Swift 3: After fitting the new cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on first boot after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting AP20CBL
The Swift 3 EC reads health data from EEPROM on the old cell and compares it against the new one during the first boot. A fresh AP20CBL has no cycle history, so the EC flags a mismatch and reports degraded health before any calibration has run. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle, and the BIOS learn routine will overwrite the stale EEPROM data with accurate readings from the new cell.
Swift 3 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data mapped to the old cell's voltage curve. Under full CPU plus display load, the new cell's actual voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the EC triggers a hard shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fix is not a battery fault — it is a calibration gap. Complete two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles so the fuel gauge IC can remap its curve to the AP20CBL cell chemistry. After the third cycle, the shutdown threshold should track accurately down to approximately 3.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Acer Swift 3 says 0% battery and won't recognise the new AP20CBL — is the cell dead on arrival?
Almost certainly not. The Swift 3 EC reads EEPROM data written by the original cell, and a fresh AP20CBL has no matching history, so the EC can report 0% or "unknown" on first boot. Connect the charger, leave the laptop plugged in for 30 minutes without powering it on, then boot while still on charge. This gives the BMS enough time to initialise communication with the EC before the OS fuel gauge tries to read state-of-charge.
The Wh rating shown in Windows battery report doesn't match the 52.55Wh spec — should I be concerned?
No. Windows reads the "design capacity" value from the battery's EEPROM, and on a fresh cell that figure is the rated chemistry spec before any learn cycle has run. After one full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted charge back to 100%, the EC updates the reported Wh against the actual measured capacity of the new cell. If the figure still differs after three calibration cycles, check Device Manager for EC firmware alerts rather than replacing the cell again.
Charge on my Swift 3 stopped at 80% and won't go higher after fitting the replacement battery — is the AP20CBL faulty?
The most common cause is Acer's BIOS-controlled charge limit, which caps charging at 80% when Battery Care Mode is active. Open the Acer Care Center application, navigate to the battery settings tab, and confirm that the charge limit is set to 100% rather than the 80% conservation preset. If Care Center shows 100% and the cell still stops at 80%, enter the BIOS on next boot, locate the Battery Health Mode option, and disable it before retesting.
