Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ROG G752VY Series — 15V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A42N1520)

This is a 15V, 5600mAh (84Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Asus ROG G752VY-T7031T and the broader G752VY/G752VS series gaming notebooks. It slots into the original battery bay and reconnects to the same 4-cell power circuit the A42N1520 uses. Install it when the original cell can no longer sustain voltage under GPU and CPU load.

  • G752VY and G752VS platform fit: These models share the same 15V four-cell battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one part number covers the full G752 range including the GFX72VS6820 and GC026T variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge passes on a G752VY unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the BIOS, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held voltage stable through sustained CPU and dGPU load without triggering a low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-cycle reset on the G752VY: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the G752VY shuts down at 20–30% shown on the gauge

A degraded original cell loses its ability to sustain voltage under the combined draw of the GTX 980M GPU, the i7 CPU, and the 17-inch display at full brightness. The BIOS will cut power when the cell voltage drops below its minimum threshold — even if the fuel gauge still reads 25% remaining. The gauge reads capacity, not real-time voltage; those two figures diverge sharply on worn cells. Fitting a new cell with a fresh nominal voltage restores the gap between the cutoff floor and the actual usable range.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell

The G752VY BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM, which stores cycle count and charge history from the previous cell. A brand-new cell arrives with EEPROM values that don't match the system's expectations, so the BIOS flags it as degraded or unknown. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this triggers the battery learn cycle and rewrites the health register. After two to three full cycles the reported health figure normalises to a value consistent with a new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My G752VY just installed the new battery but Windows shows 0% and "plugged in, not charging" — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC on the G752VY needs calibration cycles before it can accurately read a new cell's state of charge. Immediately after a swap, the controller has no reference data for the new cell's voltage curve, so it defaults to 0% or reports an unknown state. Unplug the adapter, let the laptop run on battery until it hibernates, then plug in and charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the laptop. After two full cycles the gauge locks onto the correct curve and the percentage reads accurately.

The G752VY system info shows this battery as 72Wh but the product says 84Wh — is the cell wrong?

That mismatch comes from the EEPROM on the replacement cell reporting a rated design capacity that the OS converts to Wh using its own internal calculation. The fuel gauge IC and BIOS may also be reading residual data from the old cell's profile during the first few cycles. The actual chemistry and cell capacity are correct at 84Wh — run two full discharge-and-charge cycles and the reported figure will converge closer to the correct value as the gauge IC recalibrates.

New battery charges fine but stops at 80% and won't go higher on the G752VY — is the cell defective?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell. Asus ROG laptops include a Battery Health Charging mode in MyASUS or AI Suite that caps charge at 60%, 80%, or 100% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Open MyASUS, go to Battery Health Charging, and switch the setting to Full Capacity Mode. The battery will then charge to 100% on the next cycle.
