Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clevo W255CEW / W130 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (W130HUBAT-6)
This is a 10.8V, 5200mAh (56.16Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Clevo W255CEW and W130-series notebooks. It uses OEM part number W130HUBAT-6 and cross-references 6-87-W130S-4D7, 6-87-W130S-4D71, and 6-87-W130S-4D72. Physical dimensions are 204.90 × 48.75 × 20.50mm — confirm your original before fitting.
- W255CEW and W130Ex/Hx/EV compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The W130HUBAT-6 part number covers all variants because the voltage rail and cell configuration are identical across the range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and load cycles on W130-series hardware. The BMS communicated correctly with the system board, charge termination triggered at the expected cutoff voltage, and the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell data without flagging a fault.
- Post-install calibration on the W255CEW: After fitting, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swap
The W255CEW BIOS reads health data stored in the outgoing cell's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that EEPROM data resets to factory defaults, which the BIOS interprets as a mismatch — it flags health as poor or unknown before any charge cycles have run. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS learn cycle will rewrite the health register against actual cell performance. After two to three cycles, the health indicator stabilises.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC calibration is still based on the old, degraded cell. The percentage displayed does not match the new cell's actual voltage curve, so the system hits a hard voltage floor under CPU and display load while the gauge still reads 20–30%. The fix is calibration, not a hardware fault. Discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% without interruption — repeat this two to three times until the gauge tracks correctly against 10.8V nominal and the 9.0V low-voltage cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions
My W255CEW shows the battery as "unknown" or 0% right after I installed the new cell — is it dead?
The fuel gauge IC on the W130-series board is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell, so it reports the new cell as unknown until calibration runs. Charge the new battery to 100% uninterrupted, then discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff. After one complete cycle the system board rewrites the battery register and the percentage reads correctly. If it still shows 0% after a full cycle, reseat the connector and confirm the part number matches W130HUBAT-6.
The charge stops at 80% and won't go higher — is there a fault with the cell?
On W130-series notebooks, Clevo's BIOS includes a battery charge-limit feature that caps charging at 80% when activated — this is firmware behaviour, not a cell defect. Check the power management settings in the BIOS (look under Advanced or Battery) for a charge threshold or battery care mode and disable it. Once the limit is off, the cell will charge to the full 10.8V termination voltage. The replacement cell itself has a 56.16Wh rated capacity and charges normally when no firmware cap is active.
System info shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it doesn't match what was listed?
The Wh value shown in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from the cell's EEPROM, which stores the rated capacity written at manufacture. Until the fuel gauge IC runs calibration cycles against the actual new cell chemistry, it may display a carry-over or default figure rather than the correct 56.16Wh. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles. After calibration, the reported Wh value updates to reflect the actual cell data stored in the W130HUBAT-6 EEPROM.
