Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Vostro 3510 / 5510 Series — 15.2V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (JGCCT)

This 15.2V, 3800mAh (57.76Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the factory battery in the Dell Vostro 3510, 3515, 5410, and 5510. It matches the original JGCCT, N9XX1, TN70C, and XDY9K part numbers. If your Vostro no longer holds a charge or shuts down unexpectedly, this cell is the direct swap.

  • Vostro 3510 / 3515 / 5410 / 5510 compatibility: All four models share the same 15.2V four-cell Li-Polymer architecture, the same physical connector, and the same BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single part number covers the entire group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Vostro 3510 chassis. The BMS initialised on first boot, BIOS detected the battery without a firmware error, and charge regulation engaged normally through a full cycle.
  • First-cycle recalibration after install: After fitting this cell, run the laptop unplugged until it hibernates at the low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This completes the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

Why the Vostro 3510 BIOS reports poor battery health immediately after a swap

The Vostro line stores learned charge data in EEPROM on the original battery's fuel gauge IC. When a new cell goes in, that data is gone. The BIOS reads the blank EEPROM as a degraded or unknown battery and flags it as poor health. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it resolves after one or two full discharge-charge cycles as the fuel gauge IC builds new baseline data. No driver update or BIOS flash is needed.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The OS percentage reading is still mapped to the old cell's characteristics, so it looks like 25% remaining when the real cell voltage has already dropped to the cutoff threshold. The fix is the same recalibration cycle — discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two full cycles, the gauge typically tracks within 5% of actual state of charge across the range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vostro 3510 is showing the replacement battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the new cell has no learned data yet, so Windows reports 0% or an unknown state until calibration begins. Plug the charger in and leave it connected for a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After one complete discharge-to-hibernate and recharge cycle, the OS fuel gauge recalibrates against the new cell and the reading stabilises.

BIOS is showing a different Wh rating than what's listed on the battery — should I be concerned?

The Wh value shown in BIOS is pulled from the EEPROM on the fuel gauge IC, which stores the rated capacity of the original factory cell. A replacement cell with identical chemistry can still carry a slightly different EEPROM-encoded Wh value. This does not affect charging or actual capacity — the cell delivers 57.76Wh regardless of what the BIOS reports. No action is needed.

The Vostro charges fine but the battery percentage jumps around wildly during the first few uses — what is happening?

The fuel gauge IC needs several full charge and discharge cycles to build an accurate voltage-to-capacity map for the new cell. Until it does, the percentage can jump 10–15% at a time, especially under CPU or display load spikes. Run two full cycles — discharge unplugged to the hibernate cutoff point, then charge to 100% each time — and the gauge will track the actual cell voltage curve accurately from that point.
