Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu LifeBook U937/U938/U939 — 14.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CP730401-01)
This is a 14.4V, 3450mAh (49.68Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Fujitsu LifeBook U937, U938, and U939 ultrabook series. It replaces OEM part numbers CP730401-01, CP737634-01, FPB0340S, and FPCBP536. Fit is confirmed against the slim 6.90mm profile and connector pinout common to this U-series chassis.
- U937/U938/U939 platform compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector layout, and BMS handshake protocol. Fujitsu used the same cell pack across the U-series refresh cycles, which is why multiple OEM part numbers cross-reference to a single physical unit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a LifeBook U938 chassis and monitored BMS communication through the full charge cycle. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination at 16.8V and tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff under sustained CPU and display load.
- Post-install calibration on LifeBook U-series: After fitting this battery, run the unit down to hibernate cutoff — do not force a shutdown — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The LifeBook U-series BIOS reads EEPROM data written by the original cell during its operational life. When a new cell goes in, that stored cycle count and capacity history no longer matches the fresh chemistry, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded. This is a data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. After two to three full cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the health warning clears.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on the battery meter
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under combined CPU and display load before the OS fuel gauge has caught up. The BMS trips at its low-voltage floor — typically around 12.0V under load — while the software still shows 20–30% remaining. The gauge is reading a resting voltage curve that no longer matches actual load behaviour on a new cell. Run three full discharge and recharge cycles to let the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve and the early shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The LifeBook U938 shows the replacement battery as "0% — plugged in, charging" and never moves off zero — what's happening?
The OS fuel gauge IC lost its reference point when the old cell was removed and is reading EEPROM data that no longer applies to the new chemistry. Let the laptop charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff without interrupting the process. After one complete cycle the gauge re-anchors to the new cell and the percentage will track normally. If it sticks at 0% through the first full charge, check Device Manager to confirm the battery is seen as a known device — not "Unknown Battery."
The new battery is only charging to 80% and stops — is the cell faulty?
This is almost always the BIOS charge limit, not a cell fault. Fujitsu's power management firmware on the U-series includes a battery health mode that caps charging at 80% to extend cell life over long-term use. Open Fujitsu Battery Utility (or the Power Management settings in the Fujitsu menu) and toggle the charge limit from 80% to 100%. Once disabled, plug in and the charge will proceed past 80% to a full 16.8V termination.
The system information panel shows the battery's Wh rating as different from the 49.68Wh on the product listing — which number is correct?
The figure shown in system info is pulled from the EEPROM on the original cell and may reflect the rated Wh of whatever battery the machine shipped with. The actual capacity of this replacement cell is 49.68Wh at 14.4V and 3450mAh — that is the measured chemistry, not a firmware value. The EEPROM figure will update after the cell completes its first full learn cycle through the BIOS. To force the update, do a full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by a complete charge to 100%.
