Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LoyalPay 6210 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the LoyalPay 6210 payment terminal. It fits the 6210 portable POS unit used by merchants for card transactions. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge through a shift.

  • LoyalPay 6210 fit: The 6210 terminal runs a single-cell 3.7V rail. This cell matches that voltage, the physical connector pinout, and the BMS communication protocol the terminal expects on boot. No firmware flags or hardware modifications needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated transaction loads — display on, wireless active, receipt printer firing. The BMS held stable under combined draw spikes and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without causing a mid-transaction reboot.
  • First-deployment tip for the 6210: After fitting the battery, complete at least one full transaction cycle before going live. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.

Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap

The 6210 runs a PCI security check on every power-up. A freshly installed cell may not yet have a confirmed BMS handshake with the terminal's charge controller, causing the boot sequence to stall or loop. This is not a faulty battery — it's the terminal waiting for a validated charge state. Plug into the charger, let the unit reach at least 3.9V, then power on from a connected state for the first boot.

Battery indicator stuck at 99% after first charge completes

New lithium-ion cells arrive partially charged, and the 6210's charge IC enters a top-off phase rather than a full charge cycle on first use. The indicator sits at 99% because the terminal hasn't logged a complete charge curve for this cell yet. Run the battery down through normal use until the terminal prompts a low-battery warning, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that single calibration cycle, the indicator tracks accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LoyalPay 6210 reboots every time a receipt prints — is the new battery causing this?

Yes, this is a known BMS overcurrent trip. The receipt printer motor pulls a sharp current spike at the moment of activation, and a new cell's BMS protection circuit can interpret that spike as an overcurrent fault and disconnect. Run three to five print cycles back-to-back — the BMS learns the load profile and the trip threshold adjusts. If reboots continue past ten prints, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a loose connection amplifies voltage drop under load.

The terminal sat in a drawer for two months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?

Probably not permanently. Lithium-ion cells self-discharge over time, and two months is enough for the 6210's cell to drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically under 2.5V — which causes the BMS to lock out the output circuit entirely. Connect the terminal to its charger and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V the BMS re-enables output and the terminal will boot normally.

The 6210 feels noticeably warm during a busy transaction period — is that a battery fault?

Not a fault — it's combined load heat. During a heavy period the terminal is running the display, Wi-Fi or 4G radio, and the printer simultaneously, and all three draw from the same 3.7V cell. That combined current generates heat at the cell's internal resistance, which is normal for a single-cell POS terminal under full load. If the terminal is also in direct sunlight or inside a closed case, remove it from that environment; ambient heat above 40°C stacks with load heat and will accelerate capacity fade over time.
