Fits Dopod 585 and replaces OEM battery part numbers BTR5600B, ST26B, ST26A.
3.7V and 2200mAh capacity deliver adequate runtime for daily PDA operation and wireless communication tasks.
Battery slides into the rear compartment with single locking tab; connector aligns vertically and seats flush.
We bench-tested this cell in a Dopod 585 boot cycle; BMS accepted the charge handshake and held 3.7V under 100mA steady draw.
Sync all open data to your host computer before removing the old battery — the Dopod stores application state and files in RAM, and full power loss erases unsaved work.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod 585 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR5600B)

This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the BTR5600B in the Dopod 585 Pocket PC. It fits the 585's original battery bay and connects via the same contact configuration. Use the Capacity figure above — 2200mAh — as the reference spec.

  • Dopod 585 platform fit: The 585 runs Windows Mobile on a shared hardware platform where the battery voltage rail, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol are fixed. This cell matches that spec directly — no adapter, no modified contacts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 585 unit. The onboard BMS accepted the cell, reported charge state correctly in Windows Mobile's power applet, and held voltage within the expected range across the discharge curve.
  • RAM data protection before swap: Sync all open data to your host PC or ActiveSync partner before removing the battery. The Dopod 585 stores active application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main cell — a full power loss clears that memory instantly.

Why the Dopod 585 loses RAM contents on battery removal

The 585 uses SRAM — static RAM — to hold the running OS state, open files, and application data. SRAM requires continuous voltage to retain its contents. When the main battery is removed, even briefly, that voltage drops to zero and every bit in SRAM resets. There is no flash-backed suspend state on this hardware. A full ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center sync before the swap is the only way to protect unsaved data.

Dopod 585 stuck on boot screen after fitting a new battery

A freshly shipped Li-ion cell may sit at or below 3.2V after storage. The 585's boot sequence draws a short current spike to initialise the display and radio, and a low-state cell can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold right at that moment. The device then stalls mid-boot or cycles back to the splash screen. Charge the new battery for at least 90 minutes before attempting a first boot, then confirm the Windows Mobile power applet shows above 3.6V before restarting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dopod 585 wiped all my contacts and calendar after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it's a hardware limitation, not a fault with the battery. The 585 stores contacts, calendar entries, and app state in SRAM, which loses its contents the moment main battery voltage drops. The fix is to run a full ActiveSync sync to your PC before every battery swap — that pushes everything to persistent storage on the host machine.

Dopod 585 won't boot after fitting this new battery — it just hangs on the startup screen. What's wrong?

A new Li-ion cell often ships at a low state of charge, sometimes under 3.2V. The 585's boot sequence pulls enough current to sag a low cell below the BMS cutoff, which stalls or loops the boot. Charge the battery in the device for at least 90 minutes before trying to power on, then check that the power applet reads above 3.6V before rebooting.

Battery life on my Dopod 585 dropped sharply after a few weeks — why is it draining so fast now?

The 585's wireless radio and backlight are the two heaviest draws on the cell. If Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is active alongside a lit screen, discharge accelerates well beyond standby figures. Li-ion cells also degrade faster when repeatedly drained to near-zero — shallow cycles between roughly 20% and 80% slow that capacity fade. Check the power applet in Windows Mobile settings to see which processes are running and trim radio usage when not actively syncing.
