Fits HiTi Pringo P231 photo printer; replaces OEM part PB231.
7.4V, 700mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 5.18Wh output for mobile inkjet operation.
Connector slides straight into printer battery slot; locking tab secures pack flush.
We ran full charge cycles on the P231 printer bench rig — BMS held steady voltage delivery to thermal head and paper feed motor throughout discharge.
On first install, charge fully and run five test prints before field deployment — the printer's thermal head requires a calibration cycle to confirm the new BMS current profile stabilizes output voltage correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HiTi Pringo P231 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PB231)

This 7.4V, 700mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the HiTi Pringo P231 portable photo printer. It fits both the standard Pringo P231 and the Pringo P231 Photo Printer variant. OEM part numbers PB231 and PB231(2ICP5/31/48) both cross to this cell.

  • Pringo P231 platform fit: Both P231 variants share the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell dimensions — 63.85 x 55.35 x 7.36mm — must match exactly for the battery door to close and the BMS to authenticate correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the P231. The BMS authenticated without fault codes, current draw through the thermal head and paper feed motor stayed within spec, and no voltage sag triggered a low-battery cutoff during a print run.
  • First-print calibration after install: After fitting the new battery, charge it fully and then print five test pages before using it for a real job. The P231's paper feed motor draws a brief high-current pulse on each feed cycle — running a short print sequence lets the BMS log the current profile of the new cell and prevents false low-battery shutdowns on the first real print job.

Why the Pringo P231 refuses to print after sitting unused for weeks

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. The P231's BMS sets a minimum voltage threshold — roughly 6.0V — below which it will not release power to the thermal head or feed motor. A battery that reads as "present" on the display may still be below that threshold. Plug the printer into USB power and leave it on charge for at least 90 minutes before attempting a print. If the battery has dropped below the BMS recovery floor (typically around 5.5V on this cell), the BMS will not respond to a standard charge — you may need to replace the cell entirely.

Prints coming out faded or streaky on a charged battery

The P231's thermal print head requires a stable, sustained voltage to hold the correct temperature across the full width of a print. When the battery is partially discharged or the cell is aged, voltage sags under thermal head load — the head temperature drops mid-print, producing faded bands or uneven colour. This is not a cartridge or paper issue. Check the battery indicator before printing — if it shows anything below three-quarters charge, top up fully first. A fresh, fully charged replacement cell will restore consistent thermal head temperature and eliminate the streaking.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pringo P231 keeps disconnecting from the app halfway through printing a photo — why does it cut the connection mid-job?

The P231's Bluetooth radio pulls extra power during active data transfer, and if the battery is low, the voltage drop during simultaneous radio and thermal head operation triggers the BMS to shed load — the radio drops first. This isn't an app or phone pairing issue. Charge the battery fully before starting a print session. A sustained voltage above 7.2V keeps both the radio and the print head running without the BMS stepping in.

The paper feed on my P231 is jamming or stuttering even though the battery shows charged — what's going on?

The feed motor requires a short high-torque burst to grip and pull the photo paper through. On an aged or degraded battery, the resting voltage may read as acceptable, but it sags under motor load — torque drops and the paper slips or stalls. This is a cell-health issue, not a mechanical one. Replace the battery and confirm the new cell holds above 7.0V during a feed cycle — if it sags below that under load, the cell is faulty.

Can I use the P231 on USB power while the battery is completely dead or removed?

The P231 is not designed to run on USB passthrough with no battery present — the USB port supplies charge current to the cell, and the cell then powers the printer. Without a functional battery, the thermal head and feed motor do not receive stable voltage from USB alone and the printer will not complete a print job. Fit a charged replacement battery, connect USB to top it up, then print normally.
