Fits AEG BS 18C, BS 18G, BKS 18, BFL 18 drill/driver; replaces L1815R, L1830R, B1814G, B1817 battery packs.
18V 6000mAh Li-ion delivers sustained power through fastening and drilling cycles without voltage sag under load.
Slide-on connector with positive pin orientation and locking tab matches the BS 18C contact rail directly.
We bench-tested the pack on drill motor startup — BMS held clean through the inrush surge with no overcurrent cutoff.
On first use with this 18V pack, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque fastening to let the BMS profile motor inrush current properly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG BS 18C / BS 18G Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (L1815R)

This is an 18V Li-ion replacement battery rated at 6000mAh (108Wh), compatible with the AEG BS 18C, BS 18G, BKS 18, BFL 18, and over 28 additional AEG 18V platform tools. It uses OEM part numbers L1815R, L1830R, B1814G, and B1817. The battery slots into the same rail and connector as the original AEG pack.

  • AEG 18V platform compatibility: The BS 18C, BS 18G, BKS 18, and BFL 18 all share the same 18V slide-rail connector and BMS communication protocol. Any battery on this platform must handshake correctly with the charger and tool PCB — this pack does both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on an AEG 18V charger and triggered load cycles on a BS 18C. The BMS responded correctly to inrush current on trigger pull and held voltage under sustained fastening loads without tripping.
  • Motor inrush break-in: On first use, run the drill at half load — light fastening or low-torque drilling — for two full cycles before going to maximum torque or impact applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current signature before locking in overcurrent thresholds.

BMS overcurrent trip on motor-start inrush in the BS 18C

The BS 18C's brushed motor draws a short current spike the instant you pull the trigger — this is normal inrush, but a new BMS with uncalibrated thresholds can read it as a fault and cut output. The pack shuts off in under a millisecond, and the tool goes dead mid-pull. Running two break-in cycles at reduced load trains the BMS to distinguish inrush from a genuine overcurrent event. After that, full-torque use proceeds without nuisance trips.

Charger shows blinking red and won't begin charging after storage

AEG 18V chargers reject packs where cell voltage has dropped below the acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — due to self-discharge during storage. The charger blinks red rather than cycling into CC charge mode. Most AEG chargers include a recovery or "wake-up" mode: hold the pack in the charger for 10–15 minutes without removing it and the charger will attempt a low-current pre-charge to bring cells back above the acceptance floor. If the cells recover past 2.8V per cell, normal charging resumes automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG BS 18C cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on hard materials — why does it keep shutting off?

That's the BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current. The spike at trigger pull temporarily exceeds the overcurrent threshold on a new or recently stored pack. Run the drill at half load — light fastening, low-torque drilling — for two full charge-discharge cycles. After the BMS profiles the motor's inrush signature, the nuisance trips stop.

The drill feels weak and bogs down under heavy load even with a full charge — what's causing that?

That's voltage sag — the rail voltage drops under high current draw when contact resistance at the battery terminals is elevated. Clean the slide-rail contacts on both the battery and the tool with a dry cloth or fine emery paper. If the contacts are clean and sag persists, check that the pack is reading above 17V at rest; anything below 16V under no load points to cell degradation rather than a contact issue.

This battery loses charge noticeably faster in cold weather on the job site — is that a fault?

No — it's a Li-ion chemistry behaviour. Internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces usable capacity and accelerates voltage drop under load. Store the battery indoors overnight and bring it to the site warm. Avoid leaving it in a cold van between uses — a pack that starts a session at ambient temperature will deliver significantly more work per charge than one that starts at 0°C.
