Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GreenWorks 2000007 Series — 24V Li-ion Replacement Battery (29842)
This is a 24V lithium-ion replacement battery rated at 4000mAh (96Wh), built to the same electrical spec as the original GreenWorks pack it replaces. It fits the 2000007, 2000107, 20362 Chainsaw, 2100007, and over 28 additional GreenWorks 24V cordless garden tools. OEM part numbers covered include 29842, 29852, 29322, G24B2, 29807, and 29837.
- 24V GreenWorks platform fit: These models share a common 24V battery rail, mechanical latch pattern, and BMS handshake protocol. Any pack in this family must match all three — a voltage match alone is not enough for the charger to accept the pack or the tool to release the safety lock.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through a GreenWorks 24V trimmer and mower deck under load. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping and balanced cells correctly across three full charge-discharge cycles.
- Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and calibrate its overcurrent protection thresholds before you push the pack hard.
BMS cutoff on GreenWorks mower and chainsaw motor-start inrush
When you pull the trigger on a mower deck or chainsaw, the motor draws a spike of current far above its running load — sometimes 3–5× the steady-state draw. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set conservatively or the cells are cold, this spike trips the protection circuit and the tool cuts out immediately. This is not a faulty battery — it is the BMS doing its job. A warm pack and a soft-start trigger pull (gradual engagement rather than full pull from rest) keeps the inrush spike below the trip threshold.
Charger blinking red on a 24V GreenWorks pack after storage
A GreenWorks 24V charger blinks red when the incoming pack voltage is below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 20V for a 24V pack. Cells sitting unused for several months self-discharge to this level or below, and the charger refuses to begin a full charge cycle. To recover the pack, use a charger with a recovery or conditioning mode, or briefly apply a compatible 24V source at low current to bring each cell above 3.0V. Once the pack reads above the acceptance floor, plug it into the standard GreenWorks charger and the red blink should clear within a few minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My GreenWorks mower cuts out the instant I engage the blade — new battery, full charge. What's happening?
This is a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the blade motor's start inrush current spike. The BMS sees a sudden current draw it reads as a fault and shuts the pack down before the blade even reaches speed. Run the trimmer or a lighter tool on the same battery for one full cycle first — this lets the BMS profile inrush patterns before it faces the higher mower-deck load. If the problem continues, check that the battery contact rails are clean and seated fully, as high contact resistance amplifies the voltage sag and makes the overcurrent trip more likely.
The tool runs fine for the first few minutes, then bogs down and loses power under sustained load. Battery still shows charged.
This is voltage sag under sustained draw — the cells can't maintain rail voltage when the motor runs hot and current demand stays high. It is not the same as a BMS cutoff; the tool keeps running but weakly. Check the terminal contacts on both the battery and tool first — oxidised or loose contacts add resistance and worsen sag. If contacts are clean, the issue is thermal: let the pack cool for 10–15 minutes, then resume. The 24V rail should read above 22V under load on a healthy pack; below that, cell capacity has degraded.
This battery performs fine in summer but cuts out quickly in cold weather. Is the pack faulty?
No — lithium-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the cells can deliver before the BMS trips or voltage sags to cutoff. This is a chemistry limitation, not a defect. Warm the battery to room temperature before use — even 15 minutes indoors makes a measurable difference. At operating temperature, a healthy 4000mAh 24V pack should hold above 22V under normal garden-tool load throughout the discharge cycle.
