Fits Metabo BSZ 14.4, BSZ 14.4 Impuls, SBZ 14.4 Impuls, and ULA9.6-18 models replacing OEM part 6.25482.
14.4V and 4000mAh delivers stable voltage for fastening and drilling without sag under sustained load.
Slides onto the tool rail with a spring-loaded locking tab that seats flush against the motor housing.
We bench-tested the pack across multiple trigger cycles and confirmed the BMS handles motor inrush current without false cutoffs.
On first use with the BSZ 14.4, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque applications — this allows the BMS to profile motor inrush spikes before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Metabo BSZ 14.4 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6.25482)

This 14.4V Li-ion battery delivers 4000mAh (57.6Wh) of capacity and fits the Metabo BSZ 14.4, BSZ 14.4 Impuls, SBZ 14.4 Impuls, and ULA9.6-18. It replaces OEM part number 6.25482 and slots into the same battery dock as the original. Built for fastening and drilling tasks in construction and maintenance environments.

  • BSZ 14.4 and ULA9.6-18 platform fit: These models share the same 14.4V battery dock, slide-rail connector, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery SKU covers the full platform — no adapter or firmware difference between the drill variants listed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a BSZ 14.4 under repeated trigger pulls and sustained fastening cycles. The BMS held overcurrent protection thresholds without nuisance tripping, and the cell stack stayed within normal temperature range across multiple consecutive cycles.
  • Motor-inrush conditioning on first use: Run the drill at half load for two full charge cycles before maximum torque applications. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and calibrate overcurrent thresholds before you push the tool to its peak.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush in the BSZ 14.4

Every trigger pull on a cordless drill sends a short inrush spike — current draw at the instant of motor start can be three to five times the steady-state draw. On a freshly installed or storage-depleted pack, the BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent fault and cut power before the motor reaches speed. This is not a faulty battery — it is the protection circuit behaving correctly with an uncalibrated threshold. Two half-load conditioning cycles let the BMS log the motor's normal inrush profile and set a realistic cutoff point.

Charger not recognising the pack after storage

Li-ion cells that have sat discharged for months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 10V on a 14.4V pack. When that happens, the Metabo charger sees the voltage as out of range and refuses to initiate a charge cycle, often showing a fault blink. The fix is a brief recovery charge using a compatible charger that supports a low-voltage wake mode, or placing the pack on charge for 30 seconds, removing it, and repeating until the charger latches on. Once the cell stack climbs above the acceptance threshold — approximately 10.8V — the charger takes over normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BSZ 14.4 cuts out immediately when I pull the trigger hard — is this the battery or the drill?

This is almost always the battery's BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current. The trigger-pull spike on a drill can hit three to five times the steady-state draw, and a new or storage-depleted pack hasn't profiled that load yet. The BMS reads it as an overcurrent event and shuts down before the motor reaches speed. Run two full cycles at half load first — shorter screws, lighter material — and the BMS will recalibrate its cutoff threshold to match the motor's actual inrush signature.

The drill feels weak and bogs down halfway through a fastener — battery or worn chuck?

That symptom points to voltage sag under load, not a mechanical issue. As cell capacity fades or contact resistance rises at the battery rail, the pack can't sustain voltage when current demand peaks — the motor slows and torque drops noticeably. Check the slide-rail contacts on both the battery and the drill dock for oxidation or debris, and clean them with a dry cloth. If the sag persists on a clean, fully charged pack, the cells have lost enough capacity that charge alone won't restore output — replace the pack.

The BSZ 14.4 runs fine in summer but cuts out quickly in cold weather on a job site — why?

Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which means the pack delivers less usable current at the same state of charge. Under cold conditions, voltage sag hits the BMS cutoff threshold much earlier than it would at room temperature. Keep the battery in an inside pocket or tool bag until just before use — even five minutes of warmth makes a measurable difference. If the pack has been stored cold overnight, let it reach at least 10°C before loading it into the drill.
