Fits Metabo BSZ 14.4, BSZ 14.4 Impuls, SBZ 14.4 Impuls, ULA9.6-18 drills; replaces OEM part 6.25482.
14.4V and 3000mAh capacity delivers consistent torque for fastening and drilling in tight spaces without sag.
Connector slides straight onto the tool's contact rails with a quarter-turn locking tab; no force required.
We bench-tested the pack on motor-start inrush; BMS held stable at full trigger pull without early cutoff.
On first use with the BSZ 14.4, run fastening tasks at half trigger for two charge cycles before full-load drilling — lets the BMS profile motor current spikes before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Metabo BSZ 14.4 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6.25482)

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Metabo BSZ 14.4 cordless drill-driver and related models. It fits the BSZ 14.4, BSZ 14.4 Impuls, SBZ 14.4 Impuls, and ULA9.6-18. Capacity is 3000mAh (43.2Wh), matching the OEM pack specification.

  • BSZ 14.4 and Impuls platform compatibility: The BSZ 14.4, BSZ 14.4 Impuls, and SBZ 14.4 Impuls share a common 14.4V rail and the same slide-in connector geometry with identical BMS communication pins. The ULA9.6-18 spans a voltage range that includes 14.4V, so the same connector and handshake protocol apply across all four models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger-pull events on a BSZ 14.4 frame. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold correctly on motor-start inrush and released cleanly after each draw spike without nuisance trips.
  • First-use conditioning on the BSZ 14.4: Run the drill at half load — light fastening, not max-torque driving — for the first two cycles. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw before locking overcurrent protection thresholds, reducing false cutoffs later.

BMS cutoff on BSZ 14.4 motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on a cordless drill, the motor draws a short, sharp current spike before it reaches running speed. On the BSZ 14.4, this inrush can hit three to five times the steady-state draw for a fraction of a second. A new or cold battery with a freshly initialised BMS may read that spike as an overcurrent fault and cut the pack. Running two break-in cycles at reduced load lets the BMS log the motor's inrush signature and adjust its trip threshold accordingly, so it stops tripping on normal starts.

Charger not recognising a new pack after storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. If a pack sits long enough, cell voltage can drop below the threshold the Metabo charger uses to confirm a live pack — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 10V total for a 14.4V four-cell pack. The charger blinks red or shows no activity because it will not begin a charge cycle on what it reads as a dead or damaged pack. Briefly connecting a known-good 14.4V source across the terminals for 30–60 seconds can bring cell voltage up past the 10V acceptance threshold so the charger initiates normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BSZ 14.4 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on a tough fastening job — why does it stop before the screw even moves?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a faulty battery. The motor-start inrush on a loaded BSZ 14.4 creates a brief current spike the BMS can misread as a fault on a new or cold pack. Run the drill at half load — light screwing, no resistance — for two full cycles so the BMS can profile the inrush draw and recalibrate its trip threshold. After that, the cutout on heavy starts should stop.

The drill feels sluggish and bogs down under load even though the battery shows charged — what's happening?

That's voltage sag. Under high torque, internal resistance in aged or cold cells causes the pack voltage to drop mid-draw, and the drill loses torque as a result. Check the slide-in rail contacts on both the pack and the drill for oxidation or debris — dirty contacts add resistance and make sag worse. Clean contacts with a dry cloth, re-seat the pack firmly, and test again; if sag continues on a new pack below 13.5V under load, the contact rails need closer inspection.

The battery worked fine in summer but now in cold weather it dies almost immediately — is the pack defective?

It's not defective — Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which limits how much current the cells can deliver and cuts usable capacity noticeably. Store the pack indoors at room temperature and only fit it to the BSZ 14.4 just before use. If you must work in the cold, keep a second pack in a jacket pocket and swap them as each one fades — both will recover once they warm above 10°C.
