Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Projector C205 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (MC.JH911.002)
This 7.4V, 1850mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Acer Projector C205 portable projector. It matches the original cell chemistry and BMS handshake the C205 expects. Voltage and capacity are sourced from the OEM specification: 7.4V, 1850mAh (13.69Wh).
- C205 compatibility: The C205 uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors cell voltage individually. A replacement must match both the nominal voltage and the BMS communication protocol — a mismatched pack will trip the projector's protection circuit before the battery reaches empty.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the C205's charge and discharge sequence. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and the projector's battery indicator tracked correctly from full charge through to low-battery cutoff.
- Lamp brightness setting on battery: Set the C205 to eco or low-brightness mode when running on battery. Full lamp output draws 30–40% more current than eco mode. In most presentation environments, the difference in image brightness is not noticeable, but the difference in draw from the battery is significant.
Why the C205 shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty
The C205 lamp requires a higher minimum supply voltage than the projector's general electronics. When the battery sags under load, the lamp's driver circuit hits its cutoff threshold before the battery gauge reads zero. This is not a battery fault — it is a voltage sag issue caused by the lamp being the largest single current draw in the system. Running eco mode reduces lamp draw and keeps the pack voltage above the lamp's cutoff threshold for longer.
Battery not recognised after sitting unused for several months
Li-ion cells that drop below approximately 2.5V per cell will cause the BMS to enter deep-discharge lockout — the projector will not power on and may not attempt to charge the pack. To recover, connect the projector to mains and leave it for 15–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Most BMS circuits will allow a trickle pre-charge recovery if the cells have not gone below the hard cutoff of around 2.0V per cell. If the projector still does not recognise the battery after this, check that the supply voltage at the charging port is stable at 12V or the rated input shown on the power adapter label.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Acer C205 projector keeps cutting out mid-presentation even though the battery indicator still shows charge remaining — what's happening?
The lamp in the C205 requires a higher minimum voltage than the rest of the projector's electronics. Under full lamp load, the battery voltage sags below the lamp driver's cutoff point before the gauge reads empty — so the projector shuts off while the indicator still shows bars. Switch to eco or low-brightness mode before your next session; this reduces lamp current draw and keeps pack voltage above the cutoff threshold for the full discharge cycle.
The image looks noticeably dimmer when I unplug from mains and run on battery — is the battery faulty?
It is not a fault. The C205 reduces lamp power when it detects battery operation to manage the current draw from a 1850mAh pack. This is normal projector behaviour, not a sign of a defective battery. If the dimming is more severe than a slight step down, check that the battery voltage under load is reading above 6.8V — a pack sagging below that at light load indicates a degraded cell.
The C205 won't charge the new battery — the charge indicator stays off even when plugged in. What do I check first?
If the pack voltage has dropped very low from storage, the BMS enters a protection state and the projector's internal charger may not initiate a charge cycle. Leave the projector connected to mains power for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button to allow the charger to attempt a pre-charge recovery. If the indicator still does not activate, confirm the power adapter output is at the rated input voltage shown on its label — an underpowered adapter will not trigger the charge circuit.
