Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Sony Xperia Touch G1109 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIP3116ERPC)
This 11.1V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM LIP3116ERPC in the Sony Xperia Touch G1109 portable interactive projector. It restores the unit's ability to project and accept touch input away from a wall outlet. Capacity is 12.21Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- G1109 platform fit: The Xperia Touch G1109 uses an 11.1V three-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that handshakes over the data line. A mismatched cell count or voltage rail causes the projector to refuse boot — this pack uses the correct cell configuration and connector pinout for that handshake to complete.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a G1109 unit at standard and eco lamp settings. The BMS balanced correctly across all three cells and the projector exited standby without triggering a protection cutoff at either brightness level.
- Lamp brightness setting on battery: Set the G1109 to eco mode when running on battery. Full lamp brightness pulls 30–40% more current than eco mode, which causes the battery voltage to sag faster and trips the BMS cutoff earlier — eco mode delivers the same projectable image in most indoor environments.
Why the Xperia Touch G1109 shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty
The G1109's lamp module requires a minimum supply voltage to sustain its output. That threshold sits higher than the BMS low-cell cutoff voltage. When the pack voltage drops to the lamp's minimum floor under load — typically around 9.0V on a degraded or heavily drawn cell — the projector cuts power to protect the lamp, even if the on-screen battery indicator still shows charge remaining. This is a load-dependent shutdown, not a faulty battery. Switching to eco lamp mode lowers current draw and keeps cell voltage above that floor for longer.
G1109 showing "charging" but battery percentage not increasing
The internal charger in the G1109 checks cell voltage before it begins a charge cycle. If the pack has dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell — common in batteries that have sat unused for months — the charger enters a trickle pre-charge phase that can last 30–60 minutes before normal charge current resumes. During this phase the charging indicator is active but the percentage display stays flat. Leave the unit plugged in and do not interrupt the session. If percentage remains static beyond 90 minutes, check that the USB-C input is delivering full rated voltage — a weak charger or damaged cable limits the input and stalls the cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xperia Touch G1109 keeps shutting off mid-presentation even though the battery still shows charge — what's happening?
The G1109's lamp requires a higher minimum voltage than the BMS low-battery cutoff, so the projector kills power to protect the lamp before the indicator hits empty. This happens faster at full brightness because the current draw pulls cell voltage down under load. Switch to eco lamp mode — it lowers current draw enough to keep cell voltage above the lamp's minimum floor. If shutdowns persist even at eco brightness, the pack has degraded below a serviceable capacity and needs replacement.
The projector is noticeably dimmer running on this battery than it is on mains power — is the battery faulty?
It is not a fault. The G1109 actively reduces lamp output when running on battery to manage current draw and protect cell voltage. This is firmware behaviour, not a sign of a weak pack. The reduction is most visible in brightly lit rooms — in a darkened space the difference is marginal. There is no user setting to override this; it is built into the projector's power management and applies to any battery, including the original OEM pack.
The G1109 won't start at all on battery — it only powers on when plugged into mains. What should I check first?
A pack that has been stored discharged can drop below the BMS re-initialisation threshold, which prevents the projector from drawing any current from it. Connect the G1109 to mains power with the battery installed and leave it for at least 90 minutes without interrupting the session — the internal charger runs a trickle pre-charge cycle to bring cell voltage back up before normal charging starts. Once the battery percentage begins climbing, the BMS has re-initialised and the projector will start on battery again. Confirm the charger is supplying the correct rated voltage; a low-output adapter can stall the pre-charge cycle entirely.
