Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T SPro2 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V, 6200mAh Li-Polymer battery for the AT&T SPro2 mobile projector. It fits both the SPro2 and S Pro 2 variants. Replace this battery when the original no longer holds enough charge to complete a full presentation away from mains power.

  • SPro2 and S Pro 2 compatibility: Both model variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — this single cell covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the battery through full charge and discharge cycles on the SPro2. The BMS reported correct state-of-charge to the projector's onscreen indicator, and the protection circuit triggered cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Lamp brightness and draw management: Set the SPro2 to eco or low-brightness mode during battery-powered use. Full lamp brightness draws 30–40% more current than eco mode — that extra load pushes the battery toward its minimum voltage threshold faster without a visible quality gain in most presentation environments.

Why the SPro2 shuts off before the battery indicator reaches empty

The SPro2's lamp requires a higher minimum operating voltage than the battery's hardware cutoff point. As the cell voltage drops under load, the projector's power management cuts the lamp before the fuel gauge reads zero. This is not a fault — it is the projector protecting the lamp driver circuit. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage above that threshold longer, reducing mid-presentation shutoffs.

SPro2 not charging after the battery fully depleted

If the battery discharged below approximately 3.0V — either through extended storage or deep discharge — the BMS enters a sleep state and blocks the standard charge path. The projector's internal charger will show no charging activity. To recover, apply a low-current trickle charge (around 100mA) directly to the cell for 5–10 minutes to bring it above 3.0V, then reconnect and charge normally through the projector.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SPro2 keeps shutting off mid-presentation even though the battery indicator shows charge left — what's causing that?

The projector's lamp circuit requires more voltage than the low-battery warning threshold, so it cuts out before the indicator hits empty. This happens more often as the original battery ages and internal resistance climbs — voltage sags under load even when state-of-charge looks acceptable. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage above the lamp's minimum operating threshold throughout the discharge. Check eco mode is on — full brightness accelerates the voltage drop significantly.

Lamp looks noticeably dimmer running on battery than when plugged in — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The SPro2 intentionally reduces lamp power when running on battery to manage current draw from the cell. This is firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Switching to full-brightness mode in settings will restore lamp output, but expect the available runtime to drop sharply as the higher current draw pulls the cell voltage down faster.

SPro2 battery charged fine for months and now the projector won't recognise it at all — shows no battery icon?

This points to a BMS communication failure, usually triggered by a deep-discharge event that pushed the cell below 3.0V. When that happens, the protection circuit disconnects the battery entirely and the projector sees an open circuit instead of a cell. Remove the battery, wait 60 seconds, reinsert, and attempt a charge with the projector off. If the indicator still shows nothing, the cell needs a brief trickle charge above 3.0V before the BMS will re-initialise and resume normal communication.
