Fits 3M Centrimed electric shavers and Sarnes 9602 surgical clippers — OEM equivalent to original 2.4V pack.
2.4V and 2000mAh capacity delivers the voltage and charge window this motor expects without overpressure on the BMS.
Connector slides straight in with positive contact facing outward; locking tab seats flush against the shaver housing wall.
We bench-tested the cell under sustained motor load — BMS held steady until final discharge, no premature cutoff.
If the shaver runs weakly before the low-battery indicator appears, dry the charging dock contacts with a lint-free cloth first — moisture or cleaning residue on the dock pins mimics a failing cell but is not a battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

3M Centrimed / Sarnes 9602 Surgical Clipper — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the 3M Centrimed and Sarnes 9602 surgical clipper. It fits the original battery bay directly and works with the device's existing charging circuit. Use the capacity figure from the product data — 2000mAh (4.8Wh) — not third-party listings.

  • Centrimed and Sarnes 9602 compatibility: Both devices share the same 2.4V battery rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell pack fits either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and load discharge on the Centrimed platform. The BMS responded correctly at both charge termination and low-voltage cutoff with no false trips under motor load.
  • Charging port care on a surgical clipper: Surgical clippers are frequently wiped down with isopropyl or chlorhexidine solutions. These liquids wick into the charging port. Before connecting the charger, let the port air-dry for at least 10 minutes after any wipe-down — residual moisture bridges the contacts and triggers a BMS protection fault the device reports as a dead battery.

Capacity fade from daily partial cycling on the Centrimed

Ni-MH cells in surgical clippers are often topped up on a dock after short use sessions rather than run to a low state first. This shallow-cycle pattern compresses the usable voltage window over time. The cell capacity slowly drops, but the charge indicator recalibrates around the new range and hides the degradation. The first visible sign is motor speed trailing off well before the low-battery indicator activates.

Shaver warm to touch during extended clipping sessions

The Centrimed's compact housing gives heat from both the motor and the discharging Ni-MH cells nowhere to go. Warmth on the case during a long session is normal — it is the combined thermal output of motor work and the internal resistance of the Ni-MH chemistry under sustained load. If the device cuts out hot, the BMS has hit its thermal threshold, not a voltage cutoff. Let the unit cool to room temperature for five minutes, then power it on to confirm it resumes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Centrimed clipper loses cutting power halfway through a procedure but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under motor load. The Ni-MH cell's internal resistance rises as the pack ages, causing voltage to drop under the motor's draw before the indicator registers low. The indicator reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage, so it lags behind the real state of the cell. Replacing the battery pack resolves this — a fresh cell holds voltage steady through the full discharge curve under load.

The Centrimed won't charge after a surface wipe-down — is the battery dead or is it the port?

Most likely the port. Chlorhexidine and IPA solutions wick into the charging contacts and bridge them, triggering a BMS protection trip that the device reports as a dead or absent battery. Dry the charging port with a lint-free swab, leave it to air for 10 minutes, then reconnect the charger. If the device still won't charge after the port is dry, check that the dock contacts are clean and seated — oxidised dock pins are the second most common cause.

The dock contacts on our Centrimed charging station have gone dull and the battery stopped charging — is that a battery fault?

No — oxidised dock contacts are a separate issue from the battery itself. Cleaning product residue and repeated handling leave a non-conductive film on the metal contacts. Clean the dock pins with a dry cotton swab or a small amount of isopropyl on a swab, then let them dry fully before re-docking. Once contact resistance drops back to normal, the charging circuit re-establishes and the battery charges as expected.
