Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tondeo ECO X Profi / ECO-X — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 2.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Tondeo ECO X Profi and ECO-X professional hair clippers. These cordless clippers are used in barbershops and salons, where a degraded battery causes the motor to lose speed mid-cut. This battery restores full motor drive voltage across the complete discharge cycle.
- ECO X Profi and ECO-X compatibility: Both models run the same 2.4V motor rail and share the same battery housing dimensions (48.73 × 28.68 × 14.31mm). The BMS on each model expects the same charge termination profile, so a single Ni-MH cell pack fits both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles and confirmed the BMS accepted charge termination correctly. Voltage held steady through the mid-discharge range, with cutoff triggering cleanly at the low-voltage threshold rather than dropping the motor abruptly.
- Salon cycle care: Clippers in daily professional use are often put on charge between clients rather than run to depletion. Ni-MH chemistry handles this better than Li-ion, but a full discharge-to-cutoff cycle every two to three weeks keeps the pack's voltage curve calibrated with the fuel gauge.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the ECO X Profi
Ni-MH cells develop a soft memory effect when repeatedly charged from 60–80% capacity rather than from a depleted state. In a busy salon, the clipper rarely runs flat before going back on the dock. Over several months, the pack's usable voltage window narrows, and the motor starts losing torque earlier in the charge cycle even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Running the clipper fully to cutoff before recharging — every two to three weeks — prevents this voltage depression from becoming permanent.
Motor speed dropping before the low-battery indicator activates
The ECO X Profi's motor pulls a higher current spike during thick or dense cuts. A battery with degraded cells cannot sustain voltage under that load, so the motor slows noticeably before the BMS reaches its cutoff threshold. The indicator light does not reflect this sag — it reads average cell voltage, not voltage under load. If the clipper bogs down mid-cut but the indicator still shows charge, the battery is no longer holding voltage under draw. Replacing the pack and running a full conditioning cycle resolves this immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ECO X Profi runs fine for the first few clients then starts dragging through cuts — why doesn't the battery light come on?
The low-battery indicator reads resting cell voltage, not voltage under motor load. When the pack is partially degraded, it holds an acceptable resting voltage but sags below the motor's operating threshold the moment current draw increases. The indicator never triggers because the BMS cutoff voltage is not reached — only the load voltage drops. Replace the pack and run it to full cutoff on the first cycle to set the voltage baseline.
My ECO X Profi stopped charging after I cleaned it with a damp cloth near the charging contacts — is the battery dead or is it the dock?
Moisture bridging the charging contacts trips a BMS protection circuit that looks identical to a dead battery. Before assuming the pack has failed, dry the contact points on both the clipper and the dock thoroughly — leave it unplugged in a dry area for several hours. Then reconnect and check whether the charge indicator responds. If charging resumes, the fault was moisture-induced, not a failed cell. If the indicator still shows nothing, the pack may need replacement.
The ECO-X I bought second-hand charges fully but the charge drops off faster than expected after the first few uses — is this a new battery issue or the existing pack?
A Ni-MH pack that has sat unused for months in storage self-discharges to a low state, and the first few cycles after that will show reduced usable capacity until the cells recover. Run three full discharge-to-cutoff and full recharge cycles before judging the pack's true capacity. If performance does not improve by the third cycle, the cells have likely degraded past recovery and the pack should be replaced.
