Fits Remington R-9200, R-600, R-9170, R-9190 and 25 additional rotary shaver models.
2.4V Ni-MH pack at 2000mAh delivers 4.8Wh — sufficient charge for normal multi-day shaving cycles on this motor load.
Battery slides into the R-9200 housing with dual contact pins; connector seats flush with a left-side locking tab that clicks on insertion.
We bench-tested the pack under motor load — BMS showed stable voltage delivery with no premature cutoff; discharge curve held flat to 1.0V endpoint.
On first charge in the R-9200 dock, allow 16 hours for full Ni-MH activation; the shaver will cycle on and off briefly as the pack accepts initial charge cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Remington R-9200 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Remington R-9200 and related rotary shavers. It fits the R-600, R-9170, and R-9190, plus over 25 additional Remington shaver models that share the same battery bay dimensions and voltage rail. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to finish a shave.

  • R-9200 series compatibility: These models share a common 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH configuration, matching connector orientation, and identical physical footprint — 48.73 × 28.68 × 14.31mm. The motor control circuit expects this voltage range; substituting a different chemistry trips the protection circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Remington dock charger and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge without fault codes. Motor engagement at full charge produced consistent torque through the discharge curve without early cutoff.
  • Dock contact care for waterproof models: After rinsing the shaver head under water, dry the underside charging contacts with a cloth before placing it in the dock. Moisture bridging those two contacts causes the BMS to log a protection fault — the shaver reports a dead battery when the actual problem is a wet connection.

Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the R-9200

Ni-MH cells in shavers degrade faster when they are topped off daily without being fully discharged first. The charge controller in the R-9200 dock uses a delta-V cutoff to detect full charge — but a partially depleted cell produces a shallower voltage peak, so the controller sometimes terminates early. Over months, the usable capacity window narrows and the indicator drifts out of sync with actual charge state. Letting the battery run down to the low-battery indicator before docking resets this drift.

Motor speed drops mid-shave before the indicator shows low

This happens because the R-9200 motor draws a short current spike each time it engages dense stubble. Under that load, a degraded Ni-MH cell sags below 2.0V momentarily — enough for the motor driver to throttle back, but not enough to trigger the low-battery indicator. The indicator is tied to resting voltage, not load voltage, so it still reads mid-charge. A new cell with lower internal resistance maintains voltage above 2.1V under the same load and eliminates the speed drop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My R-9200 shaver slows down halfway through a shave but the battery indicator still shows charge — why?

The motor in the R-9200 pulls a current spike when it meets resistance, and a worn Ni-MH cell sags below the motor driver's minimum voltage under that load even though resting voltage looks fine. The low-battery indicator reads resting voltage between strokes, so it lags behind actual performance. The fix is a new cell — once internal resistance drops back to spec, the voltage holds above 2.1V under load and motor speed stays consistent.

After I rinse the shaver head, the dock shows it's charging but the shaver won't turn on — what's happening?

Water on the charging contacts can bridge them and trigger a BMS protection fault before a proper charge cycle starts. The dock may show activity because current is flowing through the moisture, not into the battery. Dry the two metal contacts on the shaver base thoroughly with a cloth, then reseat it in the dock — the BMS should clear the fault and begin a normal charge within a few seconds.

The dock contacts on my Remington look dark and the shaver charges intermittently — is this a battery problem?

Dark or tarnished dock contacts are usually oxidation from shaving foam or cleaning spray residue, not a battery fault. Oxidised contacts add resistance to the charge path, so the BMS sees an incomplete circuit and interrupts charging. Clean the contacts on both the dock and the shaver base with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol, let them dry fully, then reconnect — charging should stabilise at the normal rate.
