Fits Amazfit GTR 42mm smartwatch; replaces OEM battery part number PL412120H.
This 3.85V, 190mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the energy density required for continuous heart rate monitoring, GPS tracking, and display operation on the GTR platform.
Connector seats into the battery slot with flat contact pads; polarity is marked on the cell housing and the watch mainboard.
We bench-tested this pack on a GTR 42mm mainboard under continuous HR and notification load; the BMS initialized at 3.85V nominal and held steady discharge curve through 80% depth.
After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before wearing — the fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate without a full charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazfit GTR 42mm — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL412120H)

This is a 3.85V, 190mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Amazfit GTR 42mm smartwatch. It replaces the original PL412120H battery when the watch no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. It fits the GTR 42mm chassis and connects to the existing flex cable and fuel gauge IC without modification.

  • GTR 42mm platform fit: The 42mm GTR uses a compact Li-Polymer cell on a 3.85V rail with a fuel gauge IC that tracks state-of-charge. The PL412120H footprint — 21.40 x 19.70 x 3.60mm — matches the battery bay directly. The BMS handshake is handled by the watch's main board, not the cell itself.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on a GTR 42mm unit. The fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell, reported charge state correctly after a full cycle, and the BMS did not trigger an overcurrent event during sensor polling loads.
  • Post-swap charge ritual for the GTR 42mm: After fitting the new cell, place the watch on its charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The GTR 42mm fuel gauge IC cannot calibrate its state-of-charge reference without a full charge cycle from near-zero following a cell swap. Skipping this step causes the watch to display 0% or shut off despite having charge.

Why the GTR 42mm fuel gauge reads wrong after a battery swap

The GTR 42mm uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current in and out of the cell over time. When the cell is removed, that accumulated reference is lost. The IC restarts without a known baseline, so it guesses — usually wrong. A full charge cycle from near-zero lets the IC lock onto the new cell's actual capacity and recalibrate its reference point. Until that cycle completes, percentage readings and low-battery warnings will be unreliable.

GTR 42mm not pairing to phone after battery replacement

Removing the battery cuts power to the BLE stack entirely, which drops the active pairing session stored in the watch's memory. The phone still shows the watch as a paired device, but the watch no longer recognises the bond. Open the Zepp app, go to your device settings, and remove the GTR 42mm from the paired devices list. Then re-pair from scratch — the watch will generate a new bond key and the connection will re-establish at the standard BLE 2.4GHz handshake.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GTR 42mm shows 0% and shuts off seconds after I fitted the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The GTR 42mm fuel gauge IC loses its state-of-charge reference when the old battery is disconnected, so it boots with no valid baseline and reports 0% even if the new cell has charge. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately after reassembly and let it charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first full cycle, the IC recalibrates and percentage readings stabilise.

The new battery is draining in one day — the original lasted several days. What's drawing that much current?

On the GTR 42mm, always-on display mode combined with continuous heart rate monitoring is the most common cause of single-day drain. These two features together can draw three to four times the current of normal use. Check the Zepp app and switch heart rate monitoring from continuous to smart mode, and disable always-on display if it is active. A new cell also runs slightly warm during its first few cycles as the electrolyte settles — drain typically normalises by day four or five.

The magnetic charger isn't making contact after I put the watch back together — the charging screen never appears.

This almost always comes down to the rear cover sitting fractionally out of position after reassembly, shifting the charge contact pads away from the charger pins. Remove the watch from the charger, press the rear cover firmly until you feel it seat flush, then realign the charger so the magnets centre on the contact points. If the watch back has any visible gap around the edge, the internal contacts are not flush — reseat the cover and check alignment again before charging.
