Fits Apple Watch Series 2 models MNNN2LL/A and MP032LL/A; replaces OEM part A1760.
3.8V, 270mAh lithium-polymer cell restores multi-day runtime on the 38mm watch platform.
Connector is a flat flex contact; align the gold pads and seat firmly into the battery slot.
We bench-tested the A1760 cell across five charge cycles; the fuel gauge IC calibrated normally on the fourth full charge.
After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use — the fuel gauge cannot establish a baseline without a complete charge cycle from near-zero after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Apple Watch Series 2 38mm — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A1760)

This 3.8V, 270mAh lithium-polymer cell is a direct replacement for the A1760 battery inside the Apple Watch Series 2 38mm (MNNN2LL/A, MP032LL/A). It fits the compact 26.26 × 16.65 × 5.47mm cavity in the 38mm case. Swap it when your Series 2 can no longer hold a charge through a normal day.

  • Series 2 38mm fitment: The MNNN2LL/A and MP032LL/A share the same 38mm case geometry and A1760 connector footprint. The battery management system on these watches uses the same BMS handshake — one cell spec covers both model numbers without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Series 2 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell without error flags. Charge acceptance was normal from the first cycle, and the fuel gauge IC updated its reference correctly after a full charge.
  • Post-swap charge requirement: Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately after fitting this cell and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on Series 2 cannot set an accurate reference point without a complete charge cycle from near-zero after a cell swap — skipping this step causes the percentage display to misread for days.

Why the Series 2 fuel gauge reads wrong after a battery swap

The Series 2 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge by measuring current in and out over time. When you remove the old cell, that reference is lost. The IC wakes up with no valid baseline and maps the new cell's open-circuit voltage to an estimated state of charge — which is often wrong. A full charge to 100% resets the coulomb counter and gives the IC a known endpoint to work from. Until that cycle completes, the percentage display will jump or read inaccurately.

Watch not pairing to iPhone after battery replacement

Removing the battery cuts power to the Bluetooth controller mid-session. The BLE stack on the watch loses its active pairing state, and watchOS can flag the device as unrecognised on next boot. This is not a fault with the new cell. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General → Reset → Unpair Apple Watch, then re-pair from scratch. The watch will re-download its configuration and restore the Bluetooth session cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Apple Watch Series 2 shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC lost its charge reference when the old battery was removed, and it has no valid data to display on first boot. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and let it charge uninterrupted to 100%. Once that full cycle completes, the IC resets its baseline and the percentage reads correctly.

The new battery drains completely by early afternoon — the old one used to last all day even when it was worn out. What's happening?

Always-on heart rate monitoring combined with active app notifications creates a sustained current draw that a fresh cell handles differently than a partially degraded one. For the first five to seven days, the BMS is still characterising the new cell's impedance profile, which can cause slightly unpredictable drain. Check whether Workout auto-detect and wrist-raise display wake are both enabled simultaneously — disabling wrist raise alone can cut display-on draw noticeably on Series 2.

The magnetic charger clicks into place but the watch never shows the charging symbol after the battery swap — charge stays at 0%.

This is almost always a contact alignment issue, not a cell fault. During reassembly, the charge contact flex on the back of the watch can shift a fraction of a millimetre, breaking the magnetic charger's circuit. Power the watch off, remove it from the charger, reseat the back cover firmly, and try the charger again on a flat surface. If the charging symbol still does not appear, inspect the two gold pogo-pin contacts on the rear case for debris or compression — clean with a dry toothbrush and retry.
