Fits Logitech Ultimate Ears Hyperboom 3 speaker; replaces OEM battery 533-000170.
14.4V and 3400mAh capacity delivers full charge cycles without voltage sag during high-volume playback.
Connector inserts vertically into the speaker's internal slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We charged this cell in the Hyperboom 3 and confirmed BMS accepted the pack on first connection without fault codes.
On first use after battery swap, run the speaker at moderate volume for two cycles before pushing to maximum output — the amplifier current profile needs baseline voltage readings from the new BMS.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Logitech Ultimate Ears Hyperboom 3 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (533-000170)

This is a 14.4V, 3400mAh (48.96Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Logitech Ultimate Ears Hyperboom 3 portable Bluetooth speaker. It replaces OEM part number 533-000170. Fit models include the UE Hyperboom, Ultimate Ears Hyperboom, and S00175.

  • Hyperboom platform compatibility: The Hyperboom 3, UE Hyperboom, and S00175 all run the same 14.4V battery rail with a matching connector and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between these variants requires no wiring or connector modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Hyperboom platform. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, held the 14.4V rail under combined amplifier and Bluetooth radio load, and showed no thermal anomalies through extended playback.
  • Monthly discharge cycle for Hyperboom users: The Hyperboom tends to live on a desk or shelf, constantly topped off via USB-C before it drops below 50%. Let the battery discharge below 20% at least once a month before recharging — this resets the fuel gauge and slows Li-ion capacity fade caused by shallow cycling.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty

At high volume, the Hyperboom amplifier draws a heavy current spike. If the cell has aged or is partially discharged, voltage sags under that load and drops below the amplifier's clean operating threshold before the gauge shows empty. The result is clipping and distortion even though the speaker still shows charge. A new cell with lower internal resistance maintains a stable voltage rail under the same load, eliminating the sag that causes clipping. If distortion starts before 20% charge showing on the indicator, internal resistance in the old cell is the cause.

Hyperboom won't wake from USB-C after sitting unused for weeks

A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can fall below the minimum acceptance voltage for USB-C Power Delivery negotiation — typically under 3V per cell. When this happens, the charger cannot initiate a PD handshake and the speaker appears completely dead. Most Hyperboom units have a recovery path: connect the original OEM charger (not a low-output USB port), hold the power button for 10 seconds, and leave it on charge undisturbed for 30 minutes. If the cell has dropped too far, the BMS will not recover it and the battery requires replacement. Check for a slow amber LED pulse after 30 minutes — no pulse means the cell is unrecoverable.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hyperboom 3 shows full charge but the audio cuts out or gets quiet after about an hour of loud playback — is the new battery doing the same thing?

That cutout at high volume is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. The amplifier pulls a large current spike at loud levels, and if the battery's internal resistance is elevated it can't sustain the voltage rail — the BMS trips a protection cutoff before the gauge reaches empty. We tested this replacement pack under sustained high-volume load and the voltage held without triggering a cutoff. If the symptom continues with the new battery, check that the speaker vents are clear — amplifier heat trapped in the fabric housing raises cell temperature and increases resistance mid-session.

Bluetooth keeps dropping specifically when I push the volume up past 75% — fine at low levels, drops at loud ones. What's causing that?

The amplifier and the Bluetooth radio both draw power from the same 14.4V rail. At high volume, the amplifier current spike briefly sags the rail, and the radio module loses enough voltage to drop its connection. This happens as a combined load issue, not a range or pairing issue. A cell with lower internal resistance — like a fresh pack — maintains a more stable rail under that combined draw. If drops continue after fitting the new battery, try a full discharge-to-20% and recharge cycle to let the BMS recalibrate the fuel gauge before testing again.

My Hyperboom's battery seems to drain much faster than it used to even though I keep it charged — the indicator still reads full most of the time. Why?

This is fuel gauge drift from shallow cycling. Keeping the speaker constantly topped up without letting it discharge below 20% causes the BMS to lose track of the true bottom of the charge curve, and the gauge reads higher than the actual remaining capacity. It also accelerates Li-ion capacity fade on the existing cell because the chemistry degrades faster when cycled in the upper voltage range. The fix with the new battery is to let it discharge fully to below 20% at least once a month before plugging in — this forces the BMS to recalibrate against the real cell endpoints and keeps capacity fade slower over time.
