Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Monster DNA MAX — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-2S2P)
This is a 7.4V, 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Monster DNA MAX portable Bluetooth speaker (model 2MNSK0486). It replaces the original INR18650-2S2P 2S2P cell pack when the factory battery no longer holds charge. Swap it in to restore audio playback and wireless connectivity without replacing the whole speaker.
- DNA MAX compatibility: The 2S2P 18650 configuration matches the voltage rail and connector spec the DNA MAX amplifier board expects. A mismatch here trips the onboard BMS and blocks power delivery entirely — this pack keeps the handshake clean.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the DNA MAX platform and confirmed the BMS balanced both cell pairs correctly, with no mid-cycle cutoff or voltage spike at full-charge termination.
- Discharge discipline for the DNA MAX: The DNA MAX is typically used as a desktop speaker and topped off constantly. Let the pack drop below 20% at least once a month before recharging — continuous shallow cycling without a full discharge causes fuel gauge drift and accelerates cell capacity fade over time.
Audio distortion on the DNA MAX before the battery indicator reaches empty
The DNA MAX amplifier draws a sharp current spike at high playback volume. When cell voltage sags under that combined amplifier and Bluetooth radio load, the amp clips before the battery gauge registers low. This isn't a speaker fault — it's voltage sag crossing the amplifier's minimum input threshold. A degraded or deeply discharged pack hits that sag point much earlier in the discharge curve than a fresh cell will.
DNA MAX not waking from USB-C charge after sitting unused for weeks
A deeply discharged Li-ion pack can fall below the USB-C PD minimum acceptance voltage, so the charger handshake never initialises and the speaker appears completely dead. The BMS blocks charge input as a protection measure when cell voltage drops too low. To recover the pack, connect it to a charger that supports trickle or pre-charge mode and leave it for 15–20 minutes before expecting the speaker to respond. If the cell voltage is at or above 2.5V per cell, the BMS will accept the trickle current and begin recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DNA MAX speaker shows a full battery but the audio cuts out or gets choppy after extended play — what's happening?
This is fuel gauge drift caused by long-term shallow cycling. If the speaker is regularly topped off before dropping below 50%, the battery management system loses track of the true state of charge and reports full when the pack is already well below capacity. Run the speaker down below 20% once, then charge it fully — this recalibrates the gauge. If the problem persists after two or three recalibration cycles, the original cell pack has faded and needs replacing.
Bluetooth keeps dropping specifically when I push the DNA MAX to high volume — but it reconnects fine at lower levels. Is the battery causing this?
Yes. At high volume, the amplifier and Bluetooth radio draw current simultaneously, creating a combined spike the pack has to deliver at once. A degraded pack sags in voltage under that load, briefly dropping below the threshold the Bluetooth chipset needs to stay active. The radio cuts out, then recovers when the draw drops. This is a voltage sag problem, not a pairing or firmware issue — a fresh pack with healthy internal resistance handles the spike without the sag.
The DNA MAX won't respond at all on USB-C after sitting in a bag for two months — no charging indicator, nothing. How do I get it to accept charge again?
The cell pack self-discharged below the USB-C PD handshake voltage, and the BMS blocked charge input to protect the cells. Use a charger with a trickle or pre-charge mode — leave it connected for at least 15 minutes without expecting any response from the speaker. Once cell voltage climbs back above approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS will open the charge path and the indicator will appear. If nothing happens after 30 minutes, check the cable and port for continuity before concluding the pack is unrecoverable.
