Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Teufel Boomster Go — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650-1S2P-5P)
This is a 3.7V 2600mAh (9.62Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Teufel Boomster Go portable Bluetooth speaker. It replaces the original INR18650-1S2P-5P cell pack when capacity has degraded or the battery no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 66.50 x 21.00 x 19.60mm — confirm these against your existing cell before ordering.
- Boomster Go cell format: The Boomster Go runs a single-series, two-parallel 18650 configuration. That 1S2P arrangement keeps the pack at 3.7V nominal while doubling cell capacity. Any replacement must match this layout exactly — swapping in a 1S1P cell will halve available energy and may confuse the onboard fuel gauge.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Boomster Go mainboard. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and did not trigger an over-current fault during peak amplifier draw at high volume.
- Monthly discharge cycle for the Boomster Go: If the speaker sits on a desk or shelf and gets topped off before dropping below 50%, run it down below 20% at least once a month before recharging. Constant shallow cycling causes fuel gauge drift on this cell chemistry — the speaker will report full charge while delivering noticeably less output.
Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the Boomster Go
As the 1S2P pack discharges, cell voltage drops below the amplifier's minimum clean operating point before the fuel gauge reads zero. The amp clips the audio signal under that voltage sag — you hear distortion, not a failing driver. This happens earlier on a degraded original battery because internal resistance rises with cycle age, accelerating the voltage drop under load. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage more firmly through the same draw, pushing that distortion threshold back toward actual empty.
USB charge not starting after the Boomster Go sits unused for several weeks
A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can fall below the minimum acceptance voltage for the USB-C charging circuit — the charger sees the pack as an open load and does nothing. This is a BMS protection state, not a dead port. Connect the speaker to a USB-C source that delivers at least 5V 1A and leave it for 20–30 minutes without interruption — the BMS trickle-charges the cell back above the acceptance threshold, after which normal CC/CV charging begins. If the indicator still shows no activity after 30 minutes, confirm the cell voltage at the pack terminals has reached at least 2.5V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Boomster Go shows a full charge but the audio cuts out or gets quiet well before I'd expect — what's causing that?
This is fuel gauge drift from shallow cycling — if the speaker is regularly topped off before dropping below 50%, the cell's state-of-charge calibration drifts and the indicator no longer reflects true capacity. The battery physically cannot sustain the amplifier's draw as long as the gauge suggests. Run the speaker all the way down below 20% and then charge it fully in one session to recalibrate. If the problem persists after two or three full cycles, the original cell has aged past recovery and needs replacing.
Bluetooth signal on my Boomster Go keeps dropping when I push the volume up high — the battery is new but it still happens with the old one too. Why?
At high volume the amplifier pulls a short, sharp current spike that combines with the radio's transmit draw — the combined load causes a momentary voltage sag on the cell. If the sag is deep enough, the BMS briefly throttles output to protect the cell, and the radio loses its power rail for a fraction of a second. A cell with higher internal resistance sags more under the same load, so this happens earlier on an aged battery. Replacing a degraded cell reduces internal resistance and firms up the voltage under that combined peak draw.
The Boomster Go feels noticeably warm on the bottom during long play sessions — is that the battery or the amp?
Both contribute. The Class D amplifier in the Boomster Go generates heat during sustained playback, and the discharging Li-ion cell adds its own thermal output inside the same compact housing. The fabric shell traps both heat sources. Warm to the touch during a long session is normal — hot enough to be uncomfortable is not, and usually means the cell's internal resistance has risen with age, increasing resistive heating during discharge. A replacement cell with lower internal resistance runs cooler under the same load. If the new cell still runs hot, check that the speaker's ventilation points are not blocked.
