Fits Teufel MOTIV HOME portable speaker; replaces OEM battery 08DQ0001-01.
11.1V 5200mAh cell delivers full charge capacity; speaker runs at rated audio output until voltage sag begins.
Connector seats into the battery compartment with positive and negative contacts; locking tab secures the pack during transport.
We ran a full-discharge bench test on the BMS; voltage regulation held steady through mid-range draw, no cutoff drift observed.
On first charge with the Teufel dock, discharge the battery completely before reconnecting — the fuel gauge needs one full cycle to calibrate correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Teufel MOTIV HOME — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (08DQ0001-01)

This 11.1V, 5200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Teufel MOTIV HOME portable speaker. It fits the MOTIV HOME platform using OEM part numbers 08DQ0001-01 and 10321-0000093. When the original cell degrades, audio cuts short and the charge indicator becomes unreliable — this pack restores the speaker to its original operating capacity.

  • MOTIV HOME platform fit: The MOTIV HOME uses a three-cell 11.1V Li-ion configuration that powers both the amplifier board and the wireless radio simultaneously. Any replacement pack must match this voltage rail exactly — a lower-voltage pack will trigger the BMS undervoltage cutoff under combined amp and radio draw.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the MOTIV HOME platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly. The protection circuit responded to over-current events without locking out the cell, and cell balance across all three nodes stayed within 30mV at full charge.
  • Fuel gauge reset after install: After fitting a new pack, run the MOTIV HOME down until it shuts off automatically, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. The onboard fuel gauge calibrates to the new cell capacity during this first full cycle — skipping it leaves the charge indicator reading short of the actual cell state.

Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty

As the Li-ion cell approaches the lower end of its discharge curve, voltage sag under amplifier load drops the supply rail below what the amp stage needs to drive the speakers cleanly. The amplifier clips before the BMS triggers its low-voltage cutoff, which is why the speaker distorts while the indicator still shows charge remaining. This happens faster on a degraded cell because internal resistance is higher, causing a steeper voltage drop under the same load. Fitting a new pack with lower internal resistance pushes the sag point further down the discharge curve, so the amp stays in its clean operating range until the cell is genuinely near empty.

Speaker shows full charge but audio drops after about an hour of play

This is fuel gauge drift — the charge indicator is reading from a calibration map that no longer matches the actual cell capacity after repeated shallow cycles. If the MOTIV HOME is topped off from 60–70% every day without a full discharge, the gauge loses its reference points at both ends of the curve. The speaker isn't actually fully charged when the indicator says so, and it hits the BMS cutoff sooner than expected. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycle to re-anchor the gauge to the real cell endpoints.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MOTIV HOME Bluetooth keeps cutting out at high volume even on a full charge — is the new battery causing this?

This is voltage sag under combined amplifier and radio draw, not a faulty pack. At high volume, the amp pulls a current spike that — stacked on top of the Bluetooth radio's draw — drags the supply rail down momentarily, and the wireless module drops its connection to recover. Check the cell voltage under load: if it holds above 10.5V during loud playback, the pack is fine and the cutout is a thermal or firmware issue. If it sags below 10.5V, the internal resistance in your pack is too high and replacement is the fix.

The MOTIV HOME won't respond to the USB charging cable after the battery went completely flat — how do I wake it up?

When the cell discharges below roughly 2.5V per cell (7.5V total for this three-cell pack), it drops below the minimum acceptance voltage for the USB-C power delivery negotiation, and the charger sees no valid load to respond to. Plug the speaker into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything — the protection circuit needs a trickle of current to bring the cell voltage back up to the threshold where normal charging resumes. If the indicator still shows nothing after 45 minutes, the cell has likely hit a deep-discharge point that permanent capacity loss has made unrecoverable, and a replacement pack is needed. A healthy replacement cell will respond to the charger immediately on connection.

The MOTIV HOME runs noticeably warm through the fabric housing during long listening sessions — is that a battery problem?

Some warmth is normal — the amplifier generates heat during sustained playback, and that heat is trapped inside the fabric enclosure alongside the discharging battery. Both sources add together. The concern is if the housing feels hot enough that you pull your hand away, which points to the battery's internal resistance running high — a degraded cell dissipates more energy as heat under the same discharge current. Check by running the speaker at moderate volume: if it's warm but not uncomfortable, that's within spec. If it's hot at moderate volume, measure resting voltage after a full charge — it should read at least 12.4V; anything below 11.8V at rest indicates a cell that needs replacing.
