Fits Acer Iconia Tab B1-A71 and replaces OEM battery BAT-715(1ICP5/58/94).
3.7V, 1800mAh lithium-polymer cell powers the 7-inch display and WiFi radio at rated capacity.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with single plastic locking tab on the left edge.
We ran discharge cycles on the B1-A71 — BMS voltage curve stayed linear to 3.0V, no early cutoff observed.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Iconia B1-A71 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BAT-715)

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 7-inch Android tablet. It fits the B1-A71, Iconia B1-A71, and Iconia B1-A71-83174G00nk variants. Capacity is 6.66Wh, matching the original BAT-715 specification.

  • B1-A71 series compatibility: These models share the same flat Li-Polymer cell format, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. The BMS negotiates with the same Acer charge controller across all B1-A71 board revisions, so one cell covers the full line.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a B1-A71 board. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, the charge IC stepped through constant-current and constant-voltage phases correctly, and protection cutoff triggered at the expected low-voltage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to map its cutoff points against the new cell and clears the percentage drift that almost always appears after a battery swap on this model.

Acer Iconia B1-A71 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

The B1-A71 shuts down early when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old degraded cell. The new cell's voltage curve doesn't match those stored values, so the IC miscalculates the low-voltage floor and trips a premature cutoff. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the calibration registers. After that cycle, the tablet should reach genuine 0% before cutting power.

Acer Iconia B1-A71 showing wrong battery percentage after replacement

The percentage display is driven by a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state against the old cell's internal resistance profile. Swap the cell and those stored values are immediately wrong, which produces jumpy or stuck percentage readings. The fix is a single full cycle: discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. Once complete, the gauge reads against the new cell's actual curve and the percentage stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Iconia B1-A71 installed the new battery but the percentage is jumping around and landed on 47% straight after boot — is the cell faulty?

The cell isn't faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the B1-A71 board is still calibrated to your old cell's resistance profile, so it's misreading the new one. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle resets the calibration registers and the percentage display stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my Iconia B1-A71 after I swapped the battery — it charges much slower now

The charge IC on the B1-A71 completes a negotiation handshake during the first accepted charge cycle on a new cell. Until that cycle finishes, the controller defaults to a reduced charge rate as a precaution. Plug in and let it charge fully to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. The full charge rate resumes from the next session.

My Acer Iconia B1-A71 gets noticeably warm near the back during charging after the battery swap — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth on the rear panel is normal during the first few charge cycles on a new Li-Polymer cell. The charge IC runs a slightly higher current during initial conditioning, which generates more heat than a settled cell produces. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the display shows a temperature warning, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming. Warmth that fades after two or three full cycles is not a fault.
