Fits Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 (SM-T230NU) and replaces OEM battery EB-BT230FBU.
This 3.8V, 3000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full tablet runtime for reading, media, and computing tasks.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no adapter needed or physical modification required.
We bench-tested the cell at full charge and half-discharge cycles; the BMS accepted load without cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves the inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BT230FBU)

This 3.8V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the EB-BT230FBU / EB-BT230FBE in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. It fits SM-T230NU, SM-T239C, Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 TD-LTE, and several additional Tab 4 7.0 variants. Dimensions are 99.98 × 77.45 × 4.10mm — matching the original cell footprint inside the chassis.

  • Tab 4 7.0 platform compatibility: These models share the same battery connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and 3.8V nominal rail. The EB-BT230FBU part number covers all regional variants in this lineup, including LTE and Wi-Fi-only builds.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SM-T230NU. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle, voltage held steady at 3.8V nominal, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Post-swap fuel gauge reset: After installing this battery, run it down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the tablet. The fuel gauge IC calibrates against the old cell's characteristics — this single full cycle resets it against the new cell and clears inaccurate percentage readings.

Tablet shutting down at 15–25% after a battery swap

The Galaxy Tab 4's fuel gauge IC stores a charge curve learned from the original cell. A new cell with different internal resistance shifts that curve. When the display backlight and Wi-Fi radio draw simultaneously, the combined load causes a sharper voltage drop than the IC expects — it reads the drop as empty and shuts down. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% lets the IC rebuild its curve against the new cell's resistance profile. After that cycle, the premature shutdowns stop.

Fast charging not available after fitting a replacement battery

The Tab 4 7.0 negotiates charge rate during the first accepted charge cycle after a battery swap. Until that cycle completes, the charge IC may default to standard 5W input rather than the higher rate. Plug into the original Samsung charger — not a USB hub or third-party adapter — and allow the tablet to charge from near-flat to 100% without interruption. After that first full cycle, the charge negotiation restores to normal and the faster input rate becomes available again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is showing 60% battery but just switched off — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old cell's charge curve, and a new cell's different internal resistance throws that curve off. Under combined display-plus-WiFi load, the voltage drops faster than the IC expects, so it triggers a shutdown well above zero. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% using the Samsung wall adapter. That single full cycle resets the IC against the new cell and the premature shutoffs stop.

The battery percentage is jumping around after I replaced the battery — goes from 80% to 55% in minutes. Is the new battery faulty?

It's not a faulty cell — it's the fuel gauge IC still reading the old cell's stored charge curve. The IC measures voltage and estimates capacity from that curve, and a fresh cell with different internal resistance makes the estimates erratic. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the tablet mid-cycle. After that calibration cycle, the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery on my SM-T230NU — now it charges very slowly.

The Tab 4 7.0's charge IC renegotiates input rate after a battery replacement, and until it completes one accepted full cycle, it defaults to the lowest safe input rate. Use the original Samsung wall adapter — USB hubs and third-party chargers can't complete the negotiation. Charge from below 10% to 100% without interruption or unplugging. After that first full cycle, the charge IC locks in the correct rate and normal charge speed returns.
