Fits Acer Iconia Tab B1, Iconia Tab B1-710, Iconia B1-A71 tablets; replaces BAT-715(1ICP5/60/80) and KT.00103.001.
3.7V and 2400mAh capacity delivers consistent power to the display, processor, and WiFi module throughout the charge cycle.
Connector aligns flat against the internal battery slot with a single mechanical locking tab; no polarity reversal possible.
We bench tested this cell across three discharge cycles and confirmed the BMS accepted full charge on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration and resolves inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer Iconia Tab B1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BAT-715(1ICP5/60/80))

This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh Li-ion battery for the Acer Iconia Tab B1 tablet range. It fits the Iconia Tab B1-710, Iconia B1-A71, and Iconia B1-A71-83174G00nk. Voltage and capacity match the original OEM specification exactly.

  • B1-710 and B1-A71 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers the full B1 first-generation line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on a B1-A71 unit. The BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault flags, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge IC reset after installation: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The Iconia B1's fuel gauge IC calibrates against cell history — skipping this step causes the percentage counter to drift against the new cell's actual state of charge.

Iconia Tab B1 shutting down between 15% and 25% remaining

The Iconia B1's display backlight and WiFi radio pull simultaneous current during active use. Under that combined load, a cell near end-of-life — or a new cell with an uncalibrated gauge — hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the OS-reported percentage reaches zero. The shutdown happens because the actual cell voltage drops below 3.0V while the fuel gauge still reads 15–20%. Running one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle and recharging to 100% re-aligns the fuel gauge to the new cell's actual voltage curve and resolves the early cutoff.

Tablet showing wrong battery percentage after battery swap

The Iconia B1 stores charge history in the fuel gauge IC, which was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC immediately reads the wrong state of charge. This causes the percentage to jump erratically or report full charge while the device shuts down unexpectedly. To fix it, discharge the tablet completely until it powers off on its own, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% — this gives the IC one clean cycle to recalibrate against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery in my Iconia Tab B1 — is the charger the problem?

The charger is likely fine. The Iconia B1's charge controller needs one completed charge cycle on a new cell before it negotiates higher charge rates — this is a charge IC behaviour, not a hardware fault. Connect the original charger and let it run a full uninterrupted charge to 100% without using the tablet. After that first full cycle, fast charge availability should return to normal.

My Iconia Tab B1 battery percentage drops fast from 100% but then slows down — is the battery defective?

This is fuel gauge drift, not a defective cell. The tablet's gauge IC is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve and reads the new cell inaccurately at the top of the charge. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single calibration cycle corrects the curve mapping and the percentage drop should even out from the top of charge.

The Iconia Tab B1 feels warm while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth during charging is normal when a charge IC runs its first cycles against a new cell. The charge controller adjusts current delivery as it learns the cell's internal resistance — this generates some heat. If the tablet becomes hot to the touch or the back is uncomfortable to hold, disconnect the charger and let it cool for 20 minutes before resuming. Consistent overheating past that point indicates a charge IC fault — check the charging port for debris or damage first.
