Fits AEG 900273710, AG3001, AG3003 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 2199035011.
12V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent voltage under motor load throughout discharge cycle.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on pack.
Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery under sustained suction draw; BMS passed full discharge without cutoff.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs on permanent trickle charge fade rapidly; charge to full and remove.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG 900273710 / AG3001 Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (2199035011)

This is a 12V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for AEG cordless stick and handheld vacuums. It fits the 900273710, AG3001, 900273722, and AG3003 among other models in the same series. Capacity is drawn from the product data: 1500mAh / 18Wh.

  • AG3001 / 900273710 platform fit: These models share the same 12V battery rail, physical connector, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell pack covers the full group because AEG used one battery architecture across this vacuum generation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the AG3001 platform. The BMS accepted the cell chemistry without fault codes, and the motor controller received voltage within spec across the full draw range.
  • Dock charging discipline for Ni-MH cells: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock indefinitely after the charge completes. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain cleanly — voltage sags under load even though the cell isn't fully depleted. A partially blocked filter is the most common trigger. The restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling more amps and causing the BMS to throttle output voltage before the charge level is actually critical. Clear the filter first, then retest. If suction still drops early with a clean filter, the cell may be at end of life.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the motor pulls a sustained high current — usually from a blocked filter or a hair-wrapped brush roll — the BMS shuts the output to protect the cell, then resets once temperature and current drop. The pause-and-recover pattern is the giveaway. Clear the blockage or brush roll before the next run. If the cutout happens again on a clean machine, check that the replacement cell voltage at rest is at or above 12V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG AG3001 vacuum has noticeably shorter runtime than it used to — even with the new battery fully charged. What causes that?

A partially blocked filter is the most likely cause. When airflow is restricted, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain suction, which drains the 1500mAh cell faster than normal. The battery isn't the problem — the load is too high. Clean or replace the filter and check the brush roll for wrapped debris before ruling out the cell itself.

I've had this vacuum on the charging dock every day for months and the battery life has dropped significantly — is the charger damaging it?

Yes, continuous dock charging is the main cause of capacity fade in Ni-MH packs. The charger switches to trickle mode after the cell is full, and sustained low-level charging slowly degrades the cell chemistry over weeks and months. Charge the battery to full, then physically remove the vacuum from the dock. Reconnect it only when the cell is depleted.

The replacement battery charges fully but the vacuum cuts out after a few seconds of use and then starts again — what's happening?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. The motor is pulling more amps than the BMS allows — usually because the filter is blocked or the brush roll is jammed — so the BMS shuts the output to protect the cell, then resets once current drops. Check the filter and brush roll for blockages first. If the cutout still happens on a clear machine, confirm the resting cell voltage reads at or above 12V after a full charge.
