Fits Rowenta Smart Force Extreme RR7126, RR7145, RR7157 and compatible models; replaces OEM part RS-RT900815.
Outputs 14.4V at 3400mAh capacity, matching original pack specs for full suction power and motor runtime on carpet and bare floors.
Connector slides onto dock contacts with locking tab; orientation keyed to prevent reverse insertion on the charging base.
We bench-tested the BMS under sustained motor draw on blocked filters; the cell held voltage stable until thermal cutoff engaged, then recovered normally.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge — trickle current degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta Smart Force Extreme RR7126 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RS-RT900815)

This 14.4V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original RS-RT900815 cell in the Rowenta Smart Force Extreme robotic vacuum. It fits the RR7126, RR7145, and RR7157 models, along with five additional variants in the Smart Force Extreme range. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec — the robot's navigation, motor, and suction systems run at the same electrical parameters as the factory unit.

  • Smart Force Extreme RR71xx series fit: These models share the same 14.4V power rail, battery bay dimensions, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell — RS-RT900815 — services the full lineup because the motherboard expects the same voltage handshake across the series.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the RR7126 platform. The BMS accepted the replacement without fault codes, suction engaged at full power, and the navigation system initialised normally from a cold start.
  • Dock charging habit: Remove the robot from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. Leaving a Li-ion robotic vacuum on continuous dock charge accelerates capacity fade — the trickle current keeps the cell at peak voltage stress indefinitely. Charge when depleted, then pull it off the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The RR7126 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or when the robot transitions from hard floor to thick carpet. Under that elevated draw, a degraded or new cell with high internal resistance will sag in voltage before the indicator registers as low. The BMS detects the sag and reduces power to the motor to protect the cell — suction drops noticeably even though the battery display still reads mid-range. Clean the filter and check for partial blockages in the brush housing first; if suction recovers, the issue is load-side, not the battery.

Motor cuts out mid-cycle and then restarts after a pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When restricted airflow forces the motor to spin harder against suction resistance, current draw spikes above the BMS threshold. The BMS interrupts the circuit, the robot pauses, and after the cell temperature drops slightly, the BMS resets and the motor restarts. The cycle will keep repeating until the restriction is cleared. Remove the dustbin, wash the fine filter, and check the intake path for hair or debris — that alone resolves this on most RR71xx units.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta Smart Force Extreme runs for a noticeably shorter time than it used to — is the battery the cause or something else?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause before the battery gets the blame — restricted airflow forces the motor to draw above rated current, which drains the cell faster than normal. Remove the dustbin, wash the fine filter fully, and run a clean-floor cycle to isolate the cause. If runtime is still short after the filter is clean, the original cell has likely faded from capacity loss. A replacement RS-RT900815 cell at 3400mAh restores full charge capacity — check that the dock indicator reaches 100% before the first run.

The robot was sitting unused for a few months and now won't respond when I put it on the dock — is the battery recoverable?

Li-ion cells left in a discharged state for extended periods can drop below the BMS low-voltage lockout threshold, typically around 2.5V per cell. When that happens, the charger and BMS both refuse to engage because the cell voltage is too low to be recognised as a valid pack. Some RR71xx units will show no lights at all on the dock rather than a charging indicator. If leaving it on the dock for 30 minutes with no response produces nothing, the original cell is likely in deep-discharge lockout and will need replacing — the BMS on a fresh RS-RT900815 cell initialises correctly from the dock on first placement.

My Rowenta Smart Force Extreme keeps stopping and starting on its own during a cleaning cycle — what is triggering it?

This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip caused by a sustained blockage at the brush roll or intake path, not a faulty battery. The motor draws a current spike trying to maintain suction against the restriction, the BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cell, and the robot pauses until the BMS resets. Check the brush roll for wrapped hair, clear the intake duct, and empty the dustbin — these three steps resolve the stop-start behaviour on most RR71xx units without any battery intervention. If the issue continues on a clean machine, run the robot on bare floor and confirm whether the trips stop; if they do, the trigger is load-related, not the cell.
