Fits 3M Peltor Lite-Com Basic headsets; replaces OEM part ACK03.
2.4V and 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry sustains the combined DECT radio and audio draw on extended calls without voltage sag.
Battery seats vertically into the headset charging dock with a single-pin connector; alignment tabs prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the Lite-Com cradle and confirmed the base station recognizes the new pack within one charge cycle.
On first use, keep the headset in the base station for a full charge-discharge cycle before field deployment — DECT base firmware needs this cycle to update talk-time estimates accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

3M Peltor Lite-Com Basic — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (ACK03)

This is a 2.4V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the 3M Peltor Lite-Com Basic communication headset. It replaces part number ACK03 and fits directly into the headset's battery compartment. Capacity figures come from product data — 1200mAh / 2.88Wh.

  • Peltor Lite-Com Basic fit: The Lite-Com Basic runs a dedicated 2.4V Ni-MH cell — not a standard AA pair — because its internal BMS and DECT radio circuit expect that specific voltage rail and connector configuration. Swapping to a different cell type trips the charging circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Lite-Com Basic base station and confirmed the BMS completed its handshake, accepted a charge, and delivered power to both the audio driver and DECT transmitter without cutoff under combined load.
  • First charge in the base station: Place the headset in the base station and run a full uninterrupted charge cycle before your first call. The Lite-Com Basic base needs to log the new cell before its talk-time estimate becomes accurate — pulling the headset early skips that registration step.

Base station not recognising the new pack after fitting

The Lite-Com Basic base station checks cell voltage before it begins a charge cycle. A new Ni-MH cell often sits at storage voltage — typically below the threshold the base expects for a valid pack. When the base sees that low reading, it flags a charging error rather than starting a charge. Seat the battery firmly, leave the headset in the cradle undisturbed, and the base will usually recover and begin charging within a few minutes once it detects the cell voltage rise.

Headset cuts out mid-call on a fully charged battery

The Lite-Com Basic draws current simultaneously from its audio amplifier and its DECT radio transmitter — both pulling from the same small cell. Under that combined load, a degraded or shallow-cycled cell can sag below the BMS cutoff voltage even when the charge indicator shows full. This is different from short talk time — the drop is sudden and happens under peak draw, not gradual discharge. Charge the headset for a full uninterrupted cycle, then check that resting cell voltage reads at or above 2.4V before your next shift.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station shows a charging error every time I fit the new battery — what's causing it?

A new Ni-MH cell arrives at storage voltage, which sits below the threshold the Lite-Com Basic base expects when it scans for a valid pack. The base reads that low voltage as a fault rather than starting a charge. Seat the battery firmly in the headset, place it in the cradle, and leave it undisturbed — the base will detect the rising cell voltage and begin charging within a few minutes on its own.

Talk time on the new battery is noticeably shorter than the old one was at its best — is the cell faulty?

Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle the Lite-Com Basic base may also undercount available capacity because it hasn't yet calibrated to the new cell's charge curve. Run the headset through at least three complete cycles — full charge in the base, use until low, return to base — and talk time will increase noticeably by cycle four.

The headset gets noticeably warm during long calls — is that normal for this battery size?

The Lite-Com Basic runs its audio circuit and DECT transmitter from a single compact 1200mAh cell, so sustained combined draw in a small housing generates more heat than a headset with a larger pack would. Moderate warmth during extended calls is normal. If the headset becomes hot to the touch or cuts off abruptly, check that the battery contacts are clean and making full contact — poor contact forces higher current through a smaller area, raising temperature faster.
