Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Abee V31 / V35 / V51 / M3 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Abee V31, V35, V51, and M3 dashboard cameras. These are compact in-car recording units used for journey footage and parking surveillance. When the original cell degrades, the dashcam loses its ability to save clips on shutdown or sustain parking mode — this cell restores that function.
- V31 / V35 / V51 / M3 platform: These four Abee models share the same internal cell format — 35.60 × 24.60 × 5.80mm footprint, single-cell 3.7V nominal, with a connector and BMS handshake consistent across the range. One cell fits all four.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge without triggering protection cutoff, and the cell held voltage within the expected window across multiple cycles.
- Parking mode calibration after install: After fitting a new cell, complete one full drive with the dashcam powered via the vehicle's USB or hardwire kit before relying on parking mode. The dashcam's power management needs one full charge cycle against the new cell to accurately gate parking mode duration.
Parking mode recording cutting out earlier than expected
Parking mode on the V31 and V35 draws continuously from the internal cell while the vehicle is off. A degraded original cell may only deliver a fraction of its rated capacity, so recording stops well before the camera's configured parking mode window ends. A fresh 450mAh cell restores the full energy budget the dashcam expects. If parking mode still cuts short after fitting this cell, check that the dashcam firmware's parking mode duration setting hasn't been capped at a lower value than the battery can support.
Footage corrupt or files missing after the vehicle is switched off
When the engine cuts, the dashcam needs a brief burst of internal battery power to finalise and write the last video file to the card. If the internal cell is too depleted to supply that power, the write process is interrupted mid-file, leaving the clip corrupt or absent from the card. This is one of the earliest signs the internal cell is failing — it may still appear to record normally during driving. Replacing the cell and formatting the card resolves this; verify the card reads clean with no file system errors before the next trip.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Abee dashcam doesn't power on at all when I start the engine — is that the internal battery?
Yes, most likely. The internal cell on these Abee models charges via the vehicle power connection during driving, but if the cell has fully depleted or failed, the dashcam may not boot at all — even with power connected — because the cell acts as a buffer during startup. Connect the dashcam via USB to a stable 5V source for at least 30 minutes before trying to power it on. If it still won't boot after that, the cell needs replacing.
The internal battery feels warm after a long parking mode session — is that normal?
Some warmth is expected. The V31-series housing is compact with little airflow, so sustained parking mode recording traps heat around the cell. What's not normal is the cell being hot to the touch or the dashcam shutting down mid-session due to thermal protection. If you're seeing thermal shutdowns, check that the camera isn't mounted in direct sun exposure — move it to a shaded position on the windscreen and retest. A cell that runs excessively hot under normal load should be replaced.
My Abee dashcam saves footage during drives fine, but files from parking mode are always corrupt or empty — what's causing that?
The parking mode write cycle relies entirely on the internal cell — there's no vehicle power available. If the cell can't sustain the voltage needed to finalise a file write, the clip is cut off mid-save and shows as corrupt. We saw this exact behaviour on the bench with cells below 3.4V under load. Fit a fresh 450mAh cell, let it complete one full charge via a drive session, then check parking mode clips — they should write cleanly once the cell holds above 3.6V at rest.
