Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mio MiVue 308 / 328 / 358 / 388 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (582535)
This 3.7V, 450mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Mio MiVue 308, 328, 358, and 388 dash cameras. It matches OEM part numbers 582535 and 1ICP6/26/36. Install this when the original cell no longer holds charge between drives or prevents parking mode from functioning.
- MiVue 308–388 platform fit: These four models share the same compact housing, internal connector layout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 35.60 × 24.60 × 5.80mm cell dimensions are common across the series — the same physical space and voltage rail run throughout.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the MiVue platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, voltage held steady at 3.7V nominal, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold without requiring a manual reset.
- Parking mode calibration after install: After fitting a new cell, complete one full drive cycle before relying on parking mode. The dashcam's capacitor management system calibrates against the new cell during that first charge run — parking mode duration estimates won't be accurate until that cycle completes.
Footage corrupt or missing after a parking mode session
When the internal battery sags below the write-voltage threshold mid-recording, the MiVue 308 can cut power before the current video file closes cleanly. The result is a corrupt or zero-byte file. A degraded cell drops voltage faster under the sustained draw of parking mode recording, making this more common as the battery ages. Replacing the cell restores the voltage floor the camera needs to complete each write cycle.
Internal battery hot after parking mode in a closed vehicle
Parking mode keeps the camera recording continuously inside an enclosed housing with no airflow. The 450mAh cell sustains that load in a space where cabin temperatures can exceed 60°C in direct sun. Heat accelerates lithium-polymer self-discharge and can trigger the BMS thermal cutoff, ending the parking mode session early. If the housing feels hot to the touch after retrieval, check that the hardwire kit voltage cutoff is set correctly — most kits default to 11.6V to protect the vehicle battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
My MiVue 308 won't start recording when I turn the engine on — it just shows a blank screen then shuts off.
This usually means the internal battery is too depleted to complete the boot sequence, even with power coming from the car. The camera needs the internal cell to buffer the startup surge before the hardwire or USB supply takes over. Connect the camera via USB to a laptop or wall adapter and leave it charging for at least two hours before testing again. If it still won't boot after a full charge, the original cell has failed and needs replacing.
Parking mode keeps cutting out after 20–30 minutes — the camera stops recording and won't resume until I start the engine.
A degraded internal cell can't sustain the continuous draw of parking mode recording long enough to match what the camera expects. In the first few cycles after a new battery install, capacity may also read lower than the 450mAh rating until the cell has been fully cycled two or three times. Run three complete charge and discharge cycles via normal driving before judging parking mode duration. If cut-outs persist after that, confirm the hardwire kit's low-voltage cutoff isn't triggering early — set it to 11.8V and retest.
The MiVue gets warm during parking mode and then the footage from that session is missing entirely.
Heat build-up inside the sealed housing causes the BMS to trip the thermal cutoff on the internal cell before the session ends naturally. When power cuts mid-write, the video file doesn't close properly and the camera discards it. This happens most often when the vehicle sits in direct sun with cabin temperatures above 55°C. Position the camera where the windscreen provides some shade, or mount it lower on the glass where heat soak is reduced — this keeps cell temperature below the BMS trip threshold.
