Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP F520 / F310 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 450mAh Li-Polymer cell is a direct internal replacement for the HP F520, F520G, F500G, and F310 dashcams. These compact dash cameras use a small internal battery to maintain parking mode recording and buffer power between ignition cycles. When the original cell degrades, parking mode cuts short and the unit may fail to boot cleanly on engine start.
- F520 / F310 platform compatibility: These models share the same internal cell footprint — 35.60 × 24.60 × 5.80mm — and the same 3.7V charging rail fed by the dashcam's USB or hardwire kit. Swapping the cell restores full voltage to the onboard recording controller without any firmware changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without fault flags, and verified charge termination at 4.2V with no thermal anomaly during sustained draw.
- First parking mode cycle after install: After fitting the new cell, complete one full charge via hardwire or USB before parking mode is active. The dashcam's capacitor management system calibrates parking mode duration against the new cell during that first full cycle — skipping it means parking mode may cut out earlier than expected.
Footage corrupt or missing after parking mode session
Corrupt clips are almost always a power interruption mid-write. When the internal cell can no longer sustain the voltage the write buffer needs, the dashcam cuts power before the file is closed properly. A degraded 450mAh cell can sag below the controller's minimum threshold during a long stationary recording session. Replacing the cell restores stable voltage to the write buffer and eliminates mid-write dropouts.
Internal battery hot after a parking mode session in a closed car
The F520's compact housing has minimal airflow, and sustained parking mode draw in an enclosed vehicle can raise cell temperature noticeably. This is more pronounced with an aged cell running at higher internal resistance to deliver the same current. A fresh 450mAh cell has lower internal resistance and runs cooler under the same load. If the unit still feels hot after replacing the cell, check that the dashcam firmware parking mode sensitivity is not set to its highest recording threshold, which increases duty cycle and heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
My HP F520 doesn't power on when I start the engine — the screen stays black even though it was working yesterday.
This usually means the internal 450mAh cell has discharged too far for the dashcam to boot without external power. Plug the unit into its USB or hardwire power source for at least 20 minutes before expecting it to self-start — if the screen still stays black, the cell can no longer hold enough charge to sustain the boot sequence and needs replacing.
Parking mode on my F520 stops recording after only a short time, but it used to last much longer.
Parking mode duration shrinks as the internal cell loses capacity through repeated shallow cycles. The dashcam draws a sustained current during stationary recording, and a degraded cell hits the low-voltage cutoff faster than a fresh one. After fitting a new 450mAh cell, run one complete charge cycle before testing parking mode — the unit calibrates its cutoff threshold against the new cell on that first cycle. If parking mode still cuts short after that cycle, check the dashcam's parking mode sensitivity setting, as higher sensitivity increases recording frequency and battery draw.
My F520G footage shows the last few seconds of clips are always missing or the file won't play.
Missing clip endings point to a power drop during the file-close sequence — the write buffer loses voltage before the dashcam can finalise the file. This happens when the internal cell sags under load rather than holding a stable 3.7V through the end of a recording segment. A fresh 450mAh cell with low internal resistance sustains voltage through the full write cycle. Confirm the new cell is fully charged before the first drive and verify the microSD card is formatted in the dashcam itself, not on a PC.
