This is an 11.4V, 2640mAh (30.1Wh) Li-ion battery for the Acer Aspire V5-122P and related models including the Aspire E3-111 and E3-112 series. It matches the OEM part numbers AC13C34, KT.00303.005, and 3ICP5/60/80. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the laptop fails to run on battery power.

  • Aspire V5-122P and E3 series compatibility: These models share the same 11.4V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the same replacement cell works across all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an Aspire V5-122P unit. The BMS negotiated correctly with the BIOS, charge current tapered normally at capacity, and no protection trips occurred during load testing.
  • First-cycle calibration on the V5-122P: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

The Aspire V5-122P stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When a new cell is fitted, the BIOS reads stale cycle count and degradation flags from that stored data and flags the replacement as faulty. This is not a defect in the new battery. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this forces the BIOS to write a fresh baseline and the health warning clears.

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge reports 25% remaining, but the cell voltage has already dropped below the threshold that sustains CPU and display load simultaneously. The laptop cuts power to protect the cell before the OS reaches the shutdown trigger. Run two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full charge cycles — the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against real cell behaviour and the early shutdowns stop.

The cell is not dead. The BIOS is reading EEPROM data written by the old battery and treating the new cell as unrecognised. Power the laptop off completely, remove the AC adapter for 30 seconds, then reconnect and boot. If charging still does not start, run the battery down to hibernate cutoff and charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the BIOS to re-initialise the charge circuit against the new cell.

Windows shows the battery Wh rating as 24Wh in Device Manager, but the replacement is rated 30.1Wh — which is correct?

The 30.1Wh figure from the cell itself is correct. The value Windows reports comes from EEPROM data embedded in the battery's protection circuit board — on some replacement cells this field carries the OEM-rated figure for the original lower-capacity pack. The discrepancy is a data field mismatch, not a capacity fault. Run a full calibration cycle (discharge to hibernate, charge to 100%) and the reported value will update to reflect the actual cell in Device Manager.

After two weeks of normal use, the charge stops climbing at 80% and never reaches 100% — is the cell failing already?

This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a failing cell. Acer's firmware on several V5 and E3 models includes a battery care setting that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress — it can activate automatically or after a firmware update. Open Acer Care Center or Acer Power Management, locate the Battery Care Mode or Health Charging option, and disable it. Charge should then proceed to 100% on the next cycle.
