Fits Acer CS 6531-N digital camera; replaces NP-900, 02491-0015-00, BATS4, 02491-0037-00.
3.7V 600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.22Wh to power extended shooting sessions on this compact model.
Connector slides into camera battery slot with spring-loaded retention; no locking tab required on this chassis.
We tested the BMS handshake on first insertion — the camera body accepted the cell without authentication errors.
On first use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before heavy shooting; the Acer BMS maps voltage thresholds during this cycle to display accurate battery percentage afterward.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer CS 6531-N — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-900)

This is a 3.7V, 600mAh Li-ion cell for the Acer CS 6531-N compact digital camera. It replaces OEM part numbers NP-900, 02491-0015-00, BATS4, and 02491-0037-00. The cell fits the CS 6531-N body directly and communicates with its battery management system over the standard NP-900 contact layout.

  • CS 6531-N fitment: The NP-900 form factor — 43.70 × 31.30 × 7.00mm — is specific to this compact camera platform. The three-contact terminal arrangement carries both power and the signal line the camera body uses to read charge state. A cell outside this exact footprint will not seat correctly in the battery bay.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the CS 6531-N body using the OEM charger. The BMS handshook on first charge without prompting a compatibility error, and the charge-state indicator tracked the discharge curve through to cutoff.
  • First-use charge cycle on the CS 6531-N: Run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before your first shoot. The CS 6531-N maps its battery-remaining display to a charge curve it records during that initial cycle — skipping it can cause the indicator to read inaccurately for several sessions afterward.

Flash recycling slowing down toward end of charge on the CS 6531-N

The CS 6531-N flash capacitor draws a concentrated burst of current each time it recharges between shots. As cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, the available current for capacitor recharge decreases noticeably. The result is a longer wait between flashes — not a fault in the cell itself, but a natural consequence of the discharge curve. If recycling time is increasing, check the battery-remaining indicator; the cell is likely in its final 15–20% of capacity.

Battery percentage jumping on the display after fitting a new cell

The CS 6531-N reads remaining charge by mapping current cell voltage against a stored discharge curve. A new cell's discharge curve can differ slightly from the OEM cell the camera calibrated against, causing the indicator to jump — for example, dropping from 80% to 50% without warning. This is a display calibration issue, not a cell fault. Perform two full charge-and-discharge cycles inside the camera body; the indicator typically stabilises as the BMS updates its internal reference points.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CS 6531-N shows a "no battery" or incompatible battery warning with the new cell fitted — is something wrong?

The CS 6531-N runs an authentication check when a new cell is inserted, and it occasionally rejects an unrecognised cell on first contact. Remove the battery, reinsert it, then place it in the OEM charger for a full charge cycle before putting it back in the camera body. That charge sequence is usually enough for the BMS to accept the cell. If the warning persists after one full charge, re-seat the battery and power cycle the camera once more.

The battery percentage on my CS 6531-N drops sharply in cold weather — is the cell faulty?

Li-ion cells lose usable capacity at low temperatures because internal resistance rises as the electrolyte cools. At temperatures below around 10°C, the CS 6531-N may show a rapid drop in indicated charge even on a freshly charged cell. Warm the battery to room temperature in a pocket before inserting it, and the capacity reading will recover. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect — the cell returns to full rated capacity once it is back at normal operating temperature.

The shot count on my CS 6531-N seems lower than it should be with the replacement battery — what's causing that?

Shot count varies significantly depending on how heavily the camera uses flash, continuous autofocus, and the LCD display during a session. Each of those draws additional current beyond the baseline shutter-and-sensor load used to calculate a rated shot count. A session with frequent flash firing can reduce effective shot count by 30–40% compared to a no-flash estimate. Turn off continuous AF and reduce LCD brightness when flash is in heavy use to keep draw closer to the rated figure.
