Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Revue DC65 slim — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-900)
This is a 3.7V, 600mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Revue DC65 slim and related compact cameras. It also fits the DC55 slim, DC6 super slim, and DC50 slim. Same voltage, same connector, same physical footprint as the OEM NP-900.
- DC slim series compatibility: These cameras share the NP-900 battery format across the lineup — identical voltage rail, connector pin layout, and cell dimensions (43.70 × 31.30 × 7.00mm). One cell covers the full compact series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on NP-900 compatible hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without rejection errors, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
- First-cycle conditioning on the DC65 slim: Insert the new cell and charge it fully through the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. Some compact camera BMS systems only calibrate the battery-remaining indicator after completing one full charge cycle from within the device.
Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The DC65 slim maps its battery indicator against a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new replacement cell can read as empty on first install even if it holds a partial charge. This happens because the camera's voltage threshold table doesn't yet have a reference point for the new cell. Run one full charge cycle through the camera body, and the indicator will track correctly from that point forward.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during a shoot
Erratic percentage readings on the DC65 slim are usually a voltage-mapping mismatch, not a faulty cell. The camera samples cell voltage at fixed intervals and converts that reading to a percentage using a stored curve. If the new cell's discharge curve sits slightly outside that curve, the percentage jumps between readings. Charge to 100% and discharge fully once — the camera recalibrates its reference at 4.2V full and the cutoff floor, which tightens the display accuracy on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Revue DC65 slim flashes a "no battery" warning when I insert the new NP-900 — is the cell dead?
The cell is almost certainly fine. Compact cameras in this series run an authentication check on first insert, and a new cell with no charge history can fail that check. Place the battery in the OEM charger or camera body and run it to a full charge before powering on — one full charge cycle is usually enough for the camera to accept and recognise the cell. If the warning persists after a full charge, check the cell contacts for debris before assuming a fault.
My shot count is far lower than I expected — the battery drains after just a handful of images.
Shot count specs are measured under controlled lab conditions — no flash, no continuous autofocus, minimal LCD use. On a real shoot with flash enabled, the capacitor recharge current alone adds significant draw beyond the baseline spec. At 600mAh, the NP-900 format has a modest reserve; shooting with flash active on every frame will exhaust the cell noticeably faster than still, no-flash capture. Turn off the LCD review after each shot and disable flash where lighting allows — those two changes have the largest impact on extending available shots per charge.
The camera body feels warm and the battery drains faster during video recording than during photo mode.
Video mode runs the image sensor, processor, and any stabilisation system simultaneously and continuously — a fundamentally higher draw than single-frame capture. On a compact camera drawing from a 600mAh cell, that sustained combined load will both deplete the cell faster and generate more heat in the body. This is normal behaviour, not a cell defect. If the body becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, pause recording and allow the processor to cool before resuming — sustained heat accelerates cell wear over time.
