Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Acer TravelMate 8372 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AS10I5E)
This is a 14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Acer TravelMate 8372 notebook. It fits the TravelMate 8372, 8372-7127, 8372G, 8372T, and over 24 additional variants using the same OEM part number AS10I5E. The cell slots into the original battery bay and connects via the stock locking mechanism without modification.
- TravelMate 8372 series compatibility: All 8372 variants share the same 14.8V four-cell architecture and identical battery connector with BMS data pins. The AS10I5E part number covers the full range because Acer kept the voltage rail and physical form factor consistent across the G, T, and numbered sub-models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, full load discharge, and BMS communication verification on an 8372 unit. The BMS handshake completed cleanly, protection circuits triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff, and charge acceptance reached rated capacity without thermal flag.
- Post-install recalibration on the 8372: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning the 8372 commonly throws after any cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The TravelMate 8372 BIOS reads EEPROM data written by the original factory cell. When a replacement cell arrives, the EEPROM profile does not match what the BIOS expects, so it flags the battery as degraded or unknown before a single charge cycle runs. This is not a fault in the new cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted full charge — the BIOS learn cycle rewrites its reference data against the new cell's actual capacity curve and the warning clears.
Laptop shuts down abruptly while the OS still shows 20–25% remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. The IC is still using the old cell's profile, so it misjudges remaining capacity and the voltage drops below the protection threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles allow the fuel gauge IC to rebuild an accurate map against the new chemistry. After calibration, the displayed percentage at shutdown should track to within a few points of actual cell depletion, typically below 5V per cell pair under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Acer TravelMate 8372 show "0% available (plugged in, charging)" right after fitting the new battery?
The BIOS has lost its reference data from the old cell's EEPROM and cannot read the new cell's state of charge until a learn cycle runs. Plug in the AC adapter and leave it connected without interruption until the charge indicator shows 100%. Then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff and repeat the full charge once more. After two complete cycles the fuel gauge IC builds a fresh profile and the percentage reads correctly.
The replacement battery shows a different Wh rating in Windows system info than the original — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong. The Wh figure Windows reports pulls from the EEPROM embedded in the battery's BMS, and that value is set at cell manufacture. The rated Wh on the new cell reflects its actual measured capacity — 65.12Wh — which may differ slightly from what the original aging cell had stored in its EEPROM after years of degradation. Check the figure in Windows Device Manager under Batteries after two full calibration cycles; it should stabilise at the correct rated value.
Charging stops at around 80% and will not go higher — is the 8372's charger at fault?
The 8372 BIOS includes a charge-limit firmware setting that some units activate after detecting a new or unrecognised cell. Check the Acer Power Management utility or BIOS settings under the Battery section for a charge threshold or eco-charge option and disable it. If no such setting appears, reset the BIOS to defaults, then run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff and charge uninterrupted — this clears the threshold flag and allows the cell to charge to its full 4400mAh capacity.
