If the charge light still does not engage after that window, the cell has likely self-discharged past recoverable voltage, which is a known failure mode in Li-ion cells left stored without periodic top-up charges.

I've had the AEG RX9-2 for two years and the cleaning sessions keep getting shorter — can that be reversed?
