Fits Aeonmed RESPIRATOR VG70 and VG60 ventilators; replaces OEM part numbers RRC2024 and JW-Y4S3P-6.6.
14.4V 6800mAh Li-ion delivers 97.92Wh capacity for portable operation during patient transport and clinical backup scenarios.
Connector seats into the battery slot with positive and negative terminal alignment; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench-tested the cell under VG70 load cycles; BMS accepted charge protocol on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption—medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aeonmed Respirator VG70 / VG60 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (RRC2024)

This 14.4V 6800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the RRC2024 and JW-Y4S3P-6.6 cells used in the Aeonmed VG70 and VG60 ventilators. It supports portable patient transport and maintains device function during mains power interruptions. Capacity is 97.92Wh, matching the original specification.

  • VG70 and VG60 shared platform: Both ventilators run the same 14.4V battery rail, BMS handshake protocol, and connector format. One cell format covers both units — no adapters, no rewiring.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the VG70 power-on sequence and monitored BMS communication. The battery passed the device's internal self-test and accepted a full charge without triggering a fault state.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the VG70 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during this sequence can register a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

VG70 alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The VG70's battery management system applies a chemistry verification threshold at startup. A new cell that hasn't completed one full charge-discharge cycle may report a state-of-charge value the device interprets as below threshold — even when the cell is fully charged. This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use to allow the BMS to map the cell's actual capacity curve.

Device will not power on after battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the replacement battery has been sitting long enough, its resting voltage may have dropped below the VG70's minimum BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 14.4V nominal pack. The device won't attempt to boot below that voltage, which looks identical to a dead battery. Place the cell on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on the device; most BMS circuits will recover the cell once voltage climbs above the recovery floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VG70 shows a low battery alarm right after I installed a fully charged replacement — is the cell defective?

Almost always no. The VG70's BMS runs a chemistry verification at startup and compares the new cell's reported state-of-charge against a learned baseline — a cell that hasn't been cycled yet can fail that check even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating this as a fault. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears on next startup.

The VG70 shuts off unexpectedly during use, but the battery shows a good charge level — what's causing it?

The ventilator's load profile during active respiratory support creates brief high-current draw events that stress new cells harder than a standard discharge test reveals. In the first 10 cycles, a new cell's internal resistance is slightly higher than its aged equilibrium — this can cause a momentary voltage sag that the BMS reads as an undervoltage condition and triggers a protective shutdown. Complete 10 full charge-discharge cycles on the bench before returning the device to clinical rotation.

The charge indicator on the VG70 won't reach 100% on the first charge of a new battery — is the charger or battery at fault?

Neither is faulty. The VG60/VG70 charge IC applies a conservative current limit on an unrecognised cell to protect against overcharge on unknown chemistry. This often results in the indicator plateauing at 90–95% on the first pass. Remove the battery, wait 10 minutes, then reinsert and start a fresh charge cycle — on the second cycle the IC accepts the cell's full capacity and charges to 100%.
