Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

B.Braun Perfusor FM Seringue D — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (34506357)

This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the B.Braun Perfusor FM Seringue D syringe pump. It fits the Pousse Seringue Perfusor FM Seringue D variant under the same part reference. This pump is a clinical infusion device used in hospital settings to deliver IV medication at controlled rates.

  • Perfusor FM platform fit: The Perfusor FM Seringue D runs a 7.2V motor rail with a BMS that validates cell chemistry at startup. This cell matches the voltage profile and connector orientation the device expects during its power-on handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under a simulated syringe pump load. The BMS accepted the cell, completed its self-test sequence, and held voltage within the expected window across the draw profile.
  • First-cycle protocol on medical devices: After installing this battery, allow the Perfusor FM to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification routine at boot — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Low battery alarm on the Perfusor FM immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Perfusor FM's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold calibrated to aged OEM cells. A new Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile during its first few cycles, which the BMS may read as below threshold even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the cell — it resolves after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run the battery through a full cycle before drawing any clinical conclusions about charge state.

Perfusor FM will not power on after the replacement battery sat unused in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below roughly 5.4V the BMS enters a protection state and refuses to initiate a normal boot. The pump will show no response or a blank screen. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on — this brings the cell above the BMS recovery threshold. If the device still does not boot after a full charge, check that the battery contacts are seated and clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Perfusor FM shows a low battery alarm the moment we install a freshly charged replacement — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The Perfusor FM's BMS compares internal resistance against a threshold set for aged OEM cells, and a new Ni-MH cell reads differently on the first cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating the alarm as meaningful. After that cycle the BMS calibrates to the new cell and the alarm clears.

The Perfusor FM powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during infusion — could the new battery be causing this?

New Ni-MH cells handle the pump's load profile less efficiently in the first 10 cycles while the cell chemistry stabilises. The BMS may interpret a voltage sag under load as a low-cell condition and trigger a protective shutdown. This is more common with syringe pumps than other device classes because the motor draw is constant and unforgiving. Complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles before placing the device in clinical rotation.

The charge indicator on the Perfusor FM never reaches 100% on the first charge with the new battery — should we keep charging?

The Perfusor FM's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new cell, which extends the time to a full reading and sometimes caps the displayed percentage short of 100%. This is the charge controller being cautious, not a defect. Let the device complete the charge cycle uninterrupted, then discharge and recharge fully once more. After that second cycle the charge indicator will reflect the actual cell capacity accurately.
